  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Of those who are getting an unexpected surprise! :swoon:

We just found out we're pregnant again...and we were actively trying to prevent  But hey, God's plans are greater than our plans  So here we go for a third time!

So, how do you deal with 2 under 2??? My son just turned 1 last month

cONGRATS!!!

When I became pregnant we were also trying to prevent. We were TTC then after our miscarriage and a long time trying we had decided to stop and move on. We had made all kinds of plans for a family trip and other summer stuff. Some remodeling.

At my first appointment the nurse says she had to ask if we were happy about the baby. I asked her if that was a trick question. I had just come from the bathroom where I was throwing up, the day before I had to explain to 4 kids why mommy would not be able to take a long car ride. They were very excited about a baby but didn't really get why they had to cancel thier plans. Dh was trying to deal with the idea that the money we were saving was going to another birth and not a new garage. And all I wanted to do was take a nap. LOL We really were excited even if we were alittle overwelmed at first. I am glad to see you so happy.

My last 2 are 21 months apart. And my first 2 are 25. I love how close they are. It can be annoying because they either love each other or hate each other and it can switch in an instant. But I found with my last 2 the child that was only 21 months old was more helpful than my older girls were. With the first 2 the oldest was also as proud as could be at being mommies little helper. I know your will be closer and I imagine those few months will make a difference. But as my kids have grown I love watching how they take care of eah other. My bigest piece of advice would be use your dh. It didn't take my dh long to realize I could only do so much at a time espeically at bed or bath time. So if he wanted a happy wife he was going to have to lend a hand. LOL

This is the biggest problem (and why we were preventing!) my hubby works away from home for weeks sometimes months at a time. How do you deal with a not yet 2 year old who can't walk around the grocery store for an hour or more while shopping and deal with a newborn? Hopefully I'll be able to find a really comfortable carrier to wear the baby in but I have back and shoulder problems so I'm a little worried about the logistics of stuff. My daughter was 4.5 when my son was born so there weren't the same problems.

I really like my mei tai, I think its the easiest and most versitile so maybe it would work for you

Maybe you can shop for all canned goods, boxed goods, frozen veggies and other frozen things.... once a month when your husband is home, then go to the store once a week for milk, cheese, meat and fresh veggies which would make it a faster trip. Stuff like chili only needs meat otherwise all canned goods and stuff thta can lay around for a month.

Wow congrats!

I''m with you roseoflima, i'm not coming in here til AF returns... at the moment the idea of a 'surprise' is extremely scary!!!
At my supermarket they have the trolley's with a baby seat on them (not the normal child seat) so I bring a blanket and put Zeke in there and Ruth alternates between walking and sitting in the trolley with the shopping... But I don't go for big long trips without DH yet!!!

Moby wraps are fantastic, too- the fabric really spreads out and distributes the weight. Once you get the main way to tie it down- it's simple to use!
