Adam and Eve's sudden relization....

Why did Adam and Eve relize they were naked after they sinned? What took place for them to come to this new understanding that they were naked?

I have never heard an answer that I was satisfied with.  Anyone have some takes on this?

Because God gave them Clothes afterward and told them to leave the garden immediately.


GE 3:21,23
The LORD God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them. . . So the LORD God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken.

Ummm, though the previous may be true, the reason they realized that they were naked was because they ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. This gave them realization of many things and gave them the ability to know the difference between good and evil. Though nakedness is NOT evil it is a position of vulnerability and the knowledge of such created their modesty, which cause them to "realize" that they were naked. I hope this is an enlightening answer.

After eating from the forbidden tree I believe that Adam and Eve felt something they had never felt before...guilt.&nbsp; With sin came condemnation.&nbsp; They knew they had done what God had said not to do.

i remember listening to a tape, the speaker was talking about the very first covering of sin with blood.

"The Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them."

an animal must have been slaughtered in order to make these garments, thus men brought sin into the world when they disobeyed God and ate from the tree.

It's such a coincidence that i'm reading a book regarding them.

"As man came forth from the hand of his Creator, he was of lofty stature and perfect symmetry. His countenance bore the ruddy tint of health and glowed with the light of life and joy. Adam's height was much greater than that of men who now inhabit the earth. Eve was somewhat less in stature; yet her form was noble, and full of beauty. My take would be they were clothed with a robe of light, that's why they didn't see themselves as naked.

Well right about then a strong wind must have probably blew in from the north...and well you know what it's like to be outside in the snow with no shoes on...right ??

So just imagine what that wind felt like with nothing on...you'd run and cover up too with anything you could find laying around...leaves ...grass ...tree bark...

Remember they didn't have Wal Mart back then...So they did the best they could...!

One of the definitions in the dictionary for naked is Without Covering. When Adam and Eve partook of the fruit that they were forbiden to eat, they stood before God ashamed of what they had done. They had not known before then what it ment to do wrong, but since they did do wrong their eyes were now open to it. The nakedness represents the shame for what they had done, they wanted to hide it but nothing can be hid from God. God provided them with a covering for their wrongdoing. In much the same way he has given us a covering for our sins, that covering is the blood of Jesus Christ. So we will not have to stand naked and ashamed before God one day because of all our sins.

Prior to the fall, Adam and Eve would have experienced no lust. When they gazed into each others eyes, or at one another, there would never have been any hint of selfishness or uncontrolled passion. That aspect of human relationships changed after the fall, which is why Scripture commands people to dress modestly.

After the fall, Adam and Eve lost their innocence. Perhaps they saw in the look and expression of the other something never seen previously. Guilt followed, prompting the need to cover themselves.
