NKJV 27And when he desired to cross to Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him; and when he arrived, he greatly helped those who had believed through grace;

What does believed through grace mean? They were granted God's grace because they believed, or they believed because of God's grace, or something completely different?

(Eph 2:8) For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:​

through = Gr. dia.

We are saved by grace, not by faith. Faith is the channel (dia) through which flows to us the Divine stream of saving grace.

Another way of translating this is : ...and when he arrived there, he helped much through grace those who had believed.

IMHO
Apollos truly enjoyed the Lord, this is saving grace. And though this grace, through his enjoyment of Jesus Christ, that he was able to help others.
