Anybody got any suggestions for some accoustic rock to check out?

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

elliott smith's stuff is mostly accoustic, i think, as well as cat power--she's got a lot of accoustic stuff.
mtv unplugged stuff is all accoustic--if you like that sorta thing. nirvana's unplugged is nice and i think lauryn hill's is fairly good too....

I'd go with Nico's suggestions. Are you just looking for contemporary or folk-type stuff too? If so I'd also suggest Bob Dylan and Nick Drake too.

I forgot about Nick Drake--I love his stuff, what of it I've heard. I've been meaning to pick up one of the remasters of his work. I can't remember if it was Five Leaves Left or Bryton Road I was going to get... eventually, I'd like to get all 3 of his CDs, though. And my girlfriend has the Nirvana Unplugged CD. Good stuff there, too. I didn't even think about Bob Dylan. I'll check out elliot smith and cat power and America, too. Thanks guys.
