  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Account to God

What does the Bible say about when God will judge us?

To summarise that ^^^ there are two judgements- one for believers and one after. We give an account for the works we have done for Christ to pass through the refiners fire.

"There are two separate judgments. Believers are judged at the Judgment Seat of Christ (Romans 14:10-12). Every believer will give an account of himself, and the Lord will judge the decisions he made—including those concerning issues of conscience. This judgment does not determine salvation, which is by faith alone (Ephesians 2:8-9), but rather is the time when believers must give an account of their lives in service to Christ. Our position in Christ is the “foundation” spoken of in 1 Corinthians 3:11-15. That which we build upon the foundation can be the “gold, silver, and precious stones” of good works in Christ’s name, obedience and fruitfulness—dedicated spiritual service to glorify God and build the church. Or what we build on the foundation may be the “wood, hay and stubble” of worthless, frivolous, shallow activity with no spiritual value. The Judgment Seat of Christ will reveal this."

Also remember we serve Christ and show our faith by serving others

Matthew 25:41-46 KJV

Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

Dear godenver1. God is Love, and Jesus gave us two Commandments how to become loving, too. In Matthew Jesus tells a Lawyer: " The first and great Commandment is: Love God with all thy heart, with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. The second is like it: Love thy neighbour as thyself." Then Jesus points out: " on these two Commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets."
( Matthew 22: 35-40) God wants our love, freely given and NO conditions made. In Luke 10: 25-28: Jesus goes even further. Jesus says to a certain Lawyer: " Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, with all thy soul,
and with all thy mind: DO THIS AND THOU SHALT LIVE." The Lawyer had asked Jesus in verse 25: " Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?"
What could be more obvious than this answer? How can we start to Love God and love our neighbour? A most obvious way is: to treat all we know and all we meet, friends and not friends, to treat them as we would love to be treated: always kindly and with friendly words. God will see our sincere efforts, and God will Bless us.
Jesus told us to:" Ask and then ye shall receive," we thank God and share all Love and Joy with our neighbour: all around us. Love is very catching, and Love is a Christian`s great weapon. With love we will overcome all enmity and wrong behaviour, and gradually and slowly, we will turn into the children/sons and daughters which God our Heavenly Father wants from us.
( Matthew 7: 7-10) We keep asking and thanking God, then share all Love and Joy with our neighbour: all around us. We might stumble and forget sometimes, but then we ask God to forgive us, and carry on Loving God and our neighbour. The Bible keeps telling us to " Repent," and to " Be Born Again"
that is how God wants us to be: spreading love in this imperfect world.
Jesus our Saviour will help and guide us: JESUS IS THE WAY.
Account to God: Prove to God our Heavenly Father that we Love God: HOW?
By following His Commandments to Love and Care.
I say this with love, godenver. Greetings from Emmy, your sister in Christ.

Listen to your heart.

Do you think, "I should feed those guys because they are hungry."
or
"I need to feed people who are hungry."
or
"I want to feed people."

There are tiny degrees in the differences of this thinking. Consider them each for awhile, and you may see it.

I think this is how God will judge the underlying reasons for our actions if we do not have Jesus to stand in for us where our own hearts might not be as tender as His. (And isn't that, EVERYWHERE?)

I have to admit that there are times I don't just openly say, "I WANT to feed people." Sometimes I do things because it is the right thing to do... and, let's face it, that is falling a little short of what God would hope for us.

This is a good post.

2 Corinthians 9:6-7
6 The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

I don't think it means what you think. Have you not read God said i will not let you be found Guilty, he was talking about his children.

Personally I can not give an account for not one second of my life. But I don't have to. Jesus paid my debt, I am made righteous by him through his blood. Jesus is the only mediator between us and The Father. He intercedes on our behalf.

If God asked me i would do probably what I always do go blank. My first words would probably be Jesus Help. God has blessed me i do not recall ever do anything good in my life. I am also most the time unaware of doing anything good. It is a blessing so that i am not tempted to boast and it keeps me always wanting to do something Good. God keep track it is not for me. I am not the judge nor am I good, so how can I say what is good or not? How can i give account of what is good? There is one Good that is The Father as Jesus said, when a man called him Good Master, he said there is only one Good The Father in Heaven so how is it you call me Good.

You should fear if you think your going to give an account for your self. We can not give an account. Jesus will tell us, he will mediate as he always does between us and The Father. Why do you think your alone, did Jesus not say I am with you even until the end of Ages, If he is with us even here how much more so is he with us when standing before The Father. We will see him Then, not only will he be living in us we can hug him, bow to him, praise him, worship, we will be in his presences.

Don't be afraid draw close to Jesus, He loves us, and our Father is not looking to condemn us but to save us. He is not against us, He is our Father.

Hope that helped.

It certainly did!

Great words: "Jesus help"

That would be all we could do. "Save me Lord, have mercy!":amen:

Regarding the underlined, could you please show me the verse if you could, I can't seem to find it
