Good --- glad to see you acknowledge that it is faith --- not pride. You can capitalize all the words you want; you've already admitted that there's no reason other than pure, unsupported faith to accept your POV.
No --- not in a public forum. So if a Christian came in here and said that evolution is compatible with the Bible and a belief in Jesus Christ would you tell him he's wrong?
That is correct --- like I said, we can vehemently disagree on certain issues, but when it comes to Jesus Christ and His resurrection, all disagreements cease.Apparently the differences between Dad's and AV's cosmology/creation doesn't matter when it comes to faith in Jesus.
Yes.Would a theist evolutionist get the same respect?
No --- not in a public forum.Would AV debate with a theistic evolutionist?
Seems to me that would give you a leg up, wouldn't it? It behooves you to research the topic at hand. Why should I research it, when you guys don't even research it? (Except, of course, you claim you did.)
Not just before they voted, no. They'd agreed for quite some time. Do I really need to show you links? Are you telling me that just before they voted, they sat down to make sure they all agreed on its mineral compound, it's orbit, its rotation, etc.?
Um... no.Good for peer review. Are they looking for a YOOHOO! from outer space because something passed peer review?
I see your point, and it's really rather moot. Everyone acknowledges the change in Pluto's classification, even those who voted against it. It doesn't matter that it was voted on by a small minority. That minority had the power to vote on it, and it did so. You may as well question the power of Congress to pass bills because they are a "small minority" that "didn't agree 100%."What I have noticed, is the seemingly 100% acknowledgment from the people on this site of something that was voted on by a small minority, even though the minority itself wasn't 100% in agreement.
Do you not see the point I'm making here, Gaara?

The first one is the AV1611 version. The second is more accurate to reality. What else but pride can cause a person to steadfastly assume they are correct, no matter the evidence?Changing the word FAITH to PRIDE --- then stating that "it is beyond" me is indeed a move that changes the reality of the situation.
It's a wonder you guys don't go bald scratching your heads so much.
Which verse is the right one?
Good --- glad to see you acknowledge that it is faith --- not pride.
Mission accomplished.
So then, all your harsh words on the stupidity of presuming one can know about the different state are all reserved for scientists, alone. Got it.
That, right there, is the crux of where Dad's argument falls flat on its face.
What is sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander, unless you're Dad at which point everyone who disagrees with him is wrong and he is right, and on those occasions where his own point disagrees with him, it's wrong and he's still right!
(This is why I like to refer to his use of this extreme of "Empiricism" as an epistemological atomic bomb. He can't use it without it destroying his own position as well. And yet he pushes the button over and over and over again.)
Unlike Christianity, where even the thought of an "old" truth or a "new" truth is completely out of the question...no, wait. What's your hang-up, anyway?
We don't tell you there are 25 elements in the Periodic Table one year, then change it to 35 the next, then discover 15 the next, etc.
We don't teach phlogiston one year, then find out it's junk science the next.
We don't call Pluto a planet one year, then a Dwarf Planet the next.
In short --- we don't change with the weather.
We may not agree with each other, but do you scientists?
We claim scientists are gifts from God - do you claim Christians are gifts to science?
Unlike science, where even the thought of "any" truth is completely out of the question...no waiting.Unlike Christianity, where even the thought of an "old" truth or a "new" truth is completely out of the question...no, wait.

No dobut bestowed on me because you're still sore about our little discussion about your icon?"And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
How sad that you will never be free, AV1611VET, but always a slave to your irrational, impossible dogma. I am going to put you on ignore now. That is a unique honor.
But you won't though, will you? And that adds weight to the validity of this discussion. We Christians, by contrast, will --- and not only do that --- but point to the very source of truth ---With the freedom to define words in any way I choose, I could define 'truth' to mean 'cheesecake' in which case, it's a shame there's not more truth in science, because I like truth and want to have it all the time.
So while science says, "There's no such thing as Truth," we Christians disagree.John 14:6 said:Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
According to your religion (science), there is only one AV."we Christians"
There's more than one AV??

Sure I am: 1 + 1 + 1 = 1 --- and I can back that up in Writing --- can you?You're good at counting?
