CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Eh... I'm hardly an expert on the issue, but it seems a bit weird to completely attribute the failure of this marriage to her virginity. There had to be some deeper issues (that he or she should have recognized) besides "I don't like how he puts his penis in me". A breakdown of communication for one (did she ever tell her husband what she wanted or liked? Faking [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] isn't a good sign.)

It sounds like the early marriage was more of a problem, not that it's entirely unrelated to the purity issue. Sometimes marriage just ends up being treated as a sex permit.

It sounds like the early marriage was more of a problem, not that it's entirely unrelated to the purity issue. Sometimes marriage just ends up being treated as a sex permit.
I have to agree. I know of too many young people that married in haste just to have sex not thinking about the rest of the marrage or if they had any pasion for each other. Most get it right the second time.

Sex is something that all of us inherently need no matter how much we put a taboo label over it.
Marriage is a wonderful tradition for couples to commit to each other, but sex is much more complicated than monogamous pairs that abstain until adulthood.
As soon as we're done initially developing through puberty, we are programmed to have sex and at times a lot of sex.
With that, people will naturally use marriage as a sex permit because they're told it's the only way for them to legitimately have sex, although that our society's way of functioning which is out of tune with how we humans work.
I believe in modesty, but we have to be less damning of people who get it off before marriage because that's something we ALL are fighting with, face it.

I was told sex would be devalued if I had it before marriage and so would the relationship I was in. But given how neurotic my religious conditioning made me over it, I'm incredibly glad I did decide to have sex before marriage, as it took any pressure of marrying to get laid off.
