Belinda,

Yes I am Sunni. By the way...is that a...knife your character is holding? *gulp*

~Sarah

All of our characters represent the armor of God. Go to the character section of CF, and you will see the Scripture about the armor of God.

I am holding a "casting crown" because that is what we will do when we reach Heaven. We will be given crowns but we will cast them down at the feet of Jesus. We do nothing without Him, and all glory belongs to Him.

I agree, in the bible the people portrayed with the most faith are the ones that had no mention of need of material items to reach out to God. David was inspired by God and worshipped him out tending sheep with nothing but nature and the sky as his background which God created. Needing objects to reach God puts a wall between him and you as when the item is not available it can be limiting to those needing the crutch, thus giving the object a sort of power to overcome the barrier that essentially is put up by the believer in the first place.
As for depicting tasteless art about Jesus, God is displeased, but probably not any more displeased about that than many other sins man is doing. I have nothing wrong to say about honest inspiring art about Jesus reminding us about him, his life, and what he did (suffering) to obtain our salvation. A watch is rather a rather tasteless way of doing that and I doubt God would take pleasure in it at all.

I agree here, and I think some people, especially Catholics, put too much faith in objects. I've fallen into that trap myself during a scary period of my life, I abused a little cross I received as a baptismal gift that I was counting on to protect me for a short while. God made sure I lost it, and I had to put my trust in Him instead of that little representation. That happened, and well after that happened, I found a similar one. A piece of pewter isn't going to keep me safe. God Himself will, He purchased me with the blood He shed on that cross. Through Jesus, I have guaranteed forgiveness and eternal life in Heaven.
