  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

a serial killer/hitman named "the iceman" or real name Richard Kuklinski - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia stated in his interview(which you can watch on youtube) that he murdered so many people that he didn't know the number, but knows it was over a 100. At one point in the interview he said he had a guy locked up in a freezer, crying and praying he told the man that he'd give him a half hour or something and if God comes down and changes the circumstances, he'll let him go...and said he didn't, so he ended up killing the guy. These things obviously are pretty brutal, my question is, if he became deeply religious in prison before he died, and repented his sins, do you think he'd be given a pardon?

God pardons all who honestly seek His forgiveness. Except, one can argue Satan since His sin was made with a full supernatural knowledge as a being on intellect that makes it a total act in time. So to speak. But that is a different issue.

It's people that have long memories... and even with forgiveness, there is accountability here on earth and my understanding of serial killers is very limited... that being said, I would be happy to see a serial killer in jail and not living next to me. Not that I wouldn't forgive, but rather knowing a little bit about psychology... and human frailty and weakness.. this world is safer with serial killers locked up... not put down or killed... but in a safe place ... for society. I hope that is okay for me to write and if I offend anyone... please forgive me. Emotions cause me to write this.

I know who you are talking about.

I believe he later said he regretted doing that. Not that he was fully sorry for all he did, just that one thing he felt was cruel even for him. He was a mafia hit man.

But if they truly are sorry, and want forgiveness, no they will not go to hell but they, unless by means of a serious grace from God to be perfectly contrite for their sins, they will spend time in purgatory purifying themselves and maybe even till Christ comes again.

but if they are really, really crazy, again, there will be mercy if they choose it, God won't force it on them but there will still be a purification process. Its not like they will go straight up to heaven
