  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hey everyone,

at school we were discussing the different aspects of abortion.
i am totally against it, but would it be ok to abort a child when you have been raped?
i really wouldn't want the baby..

what are your opinions on that?

Why are you asking in the Advice subforum?...

The Bible makes it clear that only God "opens and shuts the womb." He gives life and He never gives it by accident. As far as God is concerned, when He gives a child to a woman He is giving to her one of the greatest gifts possible. A human life is eternal and incredibly precious. So, then, when a woman is raped and a child results, do you think the child is an accident or a punishment by God? What a thought! And how unlike God's point of view it is! Isn't this precious, God-given life that has resulted from such a terrible circumstance perhaps God's way of bringing good out of evil? I think so! How horrible it is, and what a testament it is to how far people have moved away from God's heart, that the child is viewed as anything other than a wonderful gift from God!

Forgive me for being blunt, but so what? This is a choice one makes as to how to view the child. It could, as I said, be viewed as the one good thing to come out of a horrible situation.

The value of human life has been taking a nose-dive for some time now. The fact that you think a baby should die because its father was a rapist is a good example of this. If you valued life as God does when He gives it, the "father" of the baby would be no issue at all. The baby has no control over its parentage; it is utterly innocent of the evil of its rapist father and should not be made to suffer because of his wickedness. If, God forbid, your father murdered somebody, should the surviving victims of his evil deed hunt you down and kill you? I think not. You are not your father; his deeds are his own.

It shocks me to hear people who claim to be children of God, to be Christians, speak of abortion in approving ways. "The woman has a right to her own uterus" is a popular assertion from those who want to justify murdering babies. But such statements do not reflect the attitude of Scripture at all concerning human life or the rights of one who has surrendered all to Christ.

Adoption is always an option for rape victims it would be hard to put your body through that. But you could make something great out of a really bad situation. They could give a gift to a couple who can not have children of their own. I know it is easier said than done but it can be thought of as a blessing. Now in a situation were the baby is killing the mother and you have to pick one to live my husband and I would pick me. We can always try to have another baby later.

I think it would be emotionally scarring and draining on a woman to carry a child 9 months after it was produced from being raped. How traumatic would that be? I just know I was right out of high school when I got pregnant and this option came up. I hid out in a hotel and carried my Bible with me. I prayed ALL night and all day and I asked the Lord, should I have this child? He responded, 'Have this child.' I obeyed His orders despite the fact that my family was pressuring me to abort. I'm SO in love with my daughter, let me tell u. Times have been hard, but nothing can surpass that love. Children are awesome!

EDIT: Of course, wait til u are older to conceive so u won't have to struggle financially like I did.

My opinion is that no matter how sad the situation is, the baby still has a right to life.

Well I must admit I am outright grieved to see any christian say that abortion is acceptable for any reason.

Perhaps the reason this can even be contemplated is due to not really understanding what abortion truly is. Like it doesn't seem "real" to a lot of people. They don't grasp the reality of it all. They have been deceived into thinking the baby they are torturing to death is not a living being and just some "cells" that have formed in the body like a tumor.
For example, by the time a woman finds out she is pregnant(six weeks) the baby growing inside her already had a nervous system that is capable of feeling pain and it's heart has begun to beat. In order to abort the "products of conception" (as they secular medical world now calls the poor tiny baby) it requires one form of torture or the other to end it's life.

A saline abortion is akin to pouring acid on an adult and having it be eaten alive in excruciating agony. Suctioning, they rip the arms, legs, heads off the tiny babies to murder them. The later stage abortions force the woman to go into premature labor and when the baby comes down the birth canal they deliver only the head, stab a steel tube into the babies brain to kill it before they deliver the body so they feel "justified" that they didn't "murder" a live born baby. The realities of abortions are beyond horrific. I can't even begin to imagine the day for the Dr's preforming these torturous murders on these most vulnerable and innocent babies when they have to face God because THEY KNOW all these facts and still choose to torture and kill these babies.
I have spoken to a women that had an abortion that later found out these hidden facts and wound up in mental hospitals because of it. I think if women had to watch a video of the actual "procedures" and have the truth of each procedure explained to them in detail we would see a rapid decline in voluntary abortions.

I don't believe abortion is ok in any situation unless the baby is going to kill the mother and one or the other has to be chosen. In that case the mother should be chosen and a husband is not being biblical if he chooses the baby over his wife. just my thoughts on the matter. Every other situation should be solved by adoption there are to many couples out there that want babies and can't have them.

NO.... taking a life is taking a life. If you believe that babies are real people, why would the actions of an evil-doer in society have to cause the victim of that to kill her child? The "rape defense" makes no sense and its rediculous, abortion is murder PERIOD, end of story.

I don't tell children what to do with their bodies either. I leave that up to themselves and their legal guardians. Pediatric care is rather off-topic to this thread.

I see you have your own self made opinion on what constitutes as human life. Your wrong and deceived and a justifier of murder.
