Is partial-birth abortion illegal here in Canada?

I don't know, and I don't know how else to find out...

There apparently is no law with regards to partial birth abortion. At least that's what I've been told.

Er, I heard on the news that abortion in the 2nd and 3rd trimester was declared illegal. This was pretty recent.

An abortion should be done as early as possible. Most abortions are done during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy. Medical abortions (using pills) can only be done up until about the seventh week of pregnancy. Surgical abortions can be done after the fifth week of pregnancy in most cases, and up to 14 to 18 weeks in a clinic, or 20 weeks in a hospital.

Only a few doctors in BC will do abortions up to 20 weeks. And when I saw few, I mean only a handful in all of BC. I will try to find out if that is the same in all provinces .

I like the first sentence.. "an abortion shoudl be done as early as possible"..

And as far as abortion in Canada, currently there are no laws about it, making it not illegal, but not legal either. This was to avoid much of argueing, and they were going to get back to making a decision, but whether or not it will ever happen, I am not sure.

This link may help you out. I read somewhere recently that here in Canada, abortions are allowed for any reason up to and including the 9th month of pregnancy. I don't remember where I read that though, so you'd probably want to check that out before quoting it as fact.
