  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I should have known who started this Thread even before i opened it..haha.

In GOD's eyes, murder is not a choice. He has already commanded us not to commit murder.

He will not let us go unpunished for this vile sin.

I'm Pro-Life Liberal. Meaning I would never suggest it, don't condone it, and don't think anyone else should do it, but I will respect they might not think the same way.

On a side note, props SoF. Something that ISN'T about homosexuality.

God had no problem letting several people in the Bible kill. Even Moses commanded under God that all the first borns in Egypt should be killed. Maybe abortion is God's plan for some people?

So when does this punishment start? Seems to me you're about the most well-off nation on earth. And how long has abortion been legal? What's God waiting for? And if a nation's sufering is because of God's wrath, what did the nations in southern Africa do to peeve God so? He's been kicking the crap out of them for years, right? But America gets a free pass. How do you explain that?

Fearful?

Sorry. Christians tried to make me fear them before. Now they'll fear me.

Yeah... "Abortion is demonic filth" isn't going to be a topic about marbles... or why LSU is the best football team.

As there is nothing in the Bible concerning abortion, I rather think the topic is moot. Indeed the only time it is mentioned in the OT is as a civil crime, ie it involves a loss of property, rather than as a criminal deed.

Question for Christians, particulalrly the OP:

The Commandment reads, "Thou shalt not kill". But, it does not specify WHAT not to kill.

If you take this literally and completely, as many Christians try to, wouldn't it involve not destroying the living animals and plants on the Earth as well as not killing humans?

My point is, you say don't kill anyone, including fetuses, yet see no problem with killing Nature, which we are all part of.

Isn't that a bit of a contradiction?

Another contradiction of the Commandment is the fact that, in the Bible, God orders his followers to kill various groups of people.

Not the best role model for humans in my opinion...

I would think that with so vague a commandment as "Don't kill" that if you wanted to truly follow it as a Christian like a lot of Pro-Lifers base their anti-abortion beliefs on, you wouldn't take the life of a single thing. Which is near impossible (you walk down the street and step on ants, etc..) Where/Is there a line between whats "okay" to kill and what's not?

What do Christians make of all this?

Then I would recommend that you not get an abortion. Can you please tell me why you get to decide what someone else does with their body?

Absolutely, one cannot decide what happens to another's body. A mother cannot decide to destroy the body of her child. Glad we agree.

But she doesnt. She destroys the cells that have the potential to become the body of her child. As she has an actual body and the fetus has a potential body, her righs actually exist and the fetus's rights have a potential to exist.

I dont agree with abortion. Thats why I'm never going to have one.
