• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hey Everyone,
Has anyone heard of/experienced having a swollen tongue while on Abilify? If so, isw it a temporary or permanent side effect?

Other meds I'm on are Wellbutrin and Lorazepam and had just stopped Trileptal a week before this started. Dr already knows about it, we're seeing if it gets worse. I can breathe fine, but my speech is a mess :(

ro

I haven't had any side effects at all with Abilify.....just recently went from 5 mg to 10 mg in addition to Prozac and it seems to be working okay. I still think I need tweaking when it comes to the depression but so far the Abilify is doing just fine. I think it would take a mountain of drugs to get rid of this depression!! LOL!

We tried 50mg Prozac and 100mg seroquel at the depths of my depression and they barely made a dent. Have you tried Wellbutrin? 75mg Wellbutrin has been fantastic so far and I'm staying level when history says I should be in the middle of a depressive episode (I'm Mixed-State, but the deepression portion is really nasty). I think a lot of people have trouble with Prozac being only marginally effective during depressive episodes (hence the term "Prozac Poop-out") :(

Oh yes, I've tried Wellbutrin and Seroquel and I can't take either one, the side effects are too bad. Haha, never heard of the term "Prozac poop-out".....I was taking Lexapro and it wasn't helping so that's why the switch to Prozac. They are the only two things my system will accept. Maybe I need to try Wellbutrin again....doesn't that help to stop smoking also? Seems like I had a lot of sweating with Wellbutrin. I know what you mean about the depression part being really nasty....I can go years in a depressive state. I'm type I bi-polar and my episodes last a really long time, last time I was manic it lasted for 2 years. Man, did I get myself in a mess!! It's 4 years later and I'm still digging myself out of that one! LOL!
