  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Anyone else been getting this? I saw in my babycentre newsletter it was ligaments stretching.

I didn't get this with my first. I am 18 weeks and for the past couple of days, I have been getting pains "under the bump" nothing too painful, just rather uncomfortable. Especially if I have been sitting on the floor, something I try to avoid, but I do work in the toddlers church and have a 3 yo that I sit down on the floor and play cars and legos with.

Just wondering if anyone else has had it.

I had round ligament pain in a few brief spurts. I found that laying down and putting a cold compress on it for a little while was about the only thing that would make it feel better once it started. It could be that your baby's position or growth is making the muscles stretch faster than they did in your first pregnancy.

Yep I have it off and on and got concerned about it cause it almost felt like I was going to start my monthly..so I freaked out the first time...the doc reassured me it was just muscles stretching and that it was normal..not to get concerned unless I seen blood...so far so good....but, I admit it can be a bit stressful..cause this is our first child and when I do get those abdominal pains I worry about well what if it is something wrong...yesterday I was sooo freaked out cause my tummy was hurting and it woke me up out of a dead sleep...I was terrified...It felt just like when I use to pass gallstones..and you will all laugh at this...it turned out to be just gas...I felt like a total idiot afterwards cause I called my hubby at work and everything getting his opinion if I should bother the baby doc....first time jitters I guess.

Don't worry, I get 2nd time jitters too. Although because this is my 2nd, everyone just assumes that I am confident and know what I am doing. NOOOOOO, not true. I'm even more worried about this one than I was the first, because first one was emergency c/s, and this time around I'm going to try for natural (or at least vaginal) birth. So I am more worried this time, because I know first hand that things can go wrong, and it's like I'm doing it the first time all over again. :sigh:

As for the growth spurt, I was overweight with this pregnancy and so far the baby has been filling out the fat bits. ROFL at myself. Although apparently my hips have spread this time, they didn't do that the first time (or not so much anyway) I have no idea, but hope this baby doesn't get too big. The first one was 7lb 2oz. So that's a nice healthy size.
