• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

That's how I feel. Like a madman tormented beyond the scope of my ability to stand it. I sin like everybody else, and when I do, it just adds to the big book of sins I can do nothing about. I can't find fellowship with my God. Having done all I can do, to find forgiveness and joy, and the bipolar takes it away from me, I must say God seems against me, but i hope he is not.

God is not against you, rather He is for you. (Romans 8:31-39) It is only our distorted perceptions and feelings which make it seem like He is not for us. Everyone sins, but the Good News is that the Lord Jesus paid the debt and penalty in full on the cross for everything that is wrong with us and all of our sins. Rest and rejoice in that fact.

For me I had to find out the joy is like peace, a state of being irregardless of my feeling. Sadness, depression, mania, hopelessness, grandiosity are all feelings the my illness messes with but the fruits of the Spirit are real regardless of my feelings. Hope exists in this hopeless world and hopeless illness because Jesus came and brought hope for us. Love exists when I feel unloving or unloved because God is love. etc. . .

God is not against you. The devil is. And, like Jesus did in the wilderness, we must rebuke the devil with Scripture.

We all sin. But, 1 John 1:9 says, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness." That means our sins do not accumulate, but they are wiped away, each time we confess them.

Ephesians 6 tells us to put on our Spiritual armor regularly. The Sword is God's Word, and we must use it to extinguish the fiery darts that the devil sends our way.

Romans 12:2 tells us "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind." I renew my mind with Scripture. That is God's plan for us. He sent His Word to help us be renewed and healed.

I asked Jesus not to throw me away today. I have that fear.

God says in His Word, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." Joshua 1:5.

Romans 8:38-39 says "38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[a] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

The devil lies and is the father of lies. We must stand on Truth, which is God's Word.

We must believe what His Word says. He keeps His Word.

Don't feel like God doesn't like you, because he does. It's you making these decisions, not the sickness. I'm bi-polar and schizophrenic... and I still don't think God hates me.

He may be under strong delusions, and it's not him making the decisions.
