  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It may seem intimidating, but I merely just over-posted with basic ideas. All you REALLY need to know is the last few paragraphs or so of that thread, and this basic concept...
Peacetime.... weird things happening.... uh oh, bad guys! Peaceful evening... uh oh! Bad guys show faces! Complications, battles.... and did Fate bring this group of travellers together at the Royal Splendor Inn? They have to stop.. uh oh, the bad guys! And get to the bottom of their appearances.

Really? You actually read that big ol' mess, eh? So what are your thoughts, wanna try it? Actual start of RPG will be simpler, k?
And some details in my OOC thread there may apply to later RPG's if we get a series going. So that thread is basically like HQ for all of them... since I don't know how to use Wiki how I'd like to. I PMed brilliand, so i should be learning soon. He's cool like that. 8)

Now, as for your actual RPG idea, it sounds good to me. It's actually funny because your description of the storyline at the bottom reminded me of an RPG I just created. Dangerous mountains, people disappearing, vicious monsters being assembled in the caves of the mountain, rumors of said creatures, etc. It's an awesome idea

Now a few questions...

Besides these evil creatures, are there any other races aside from humans that are playable? And for the professions, I'm not too sure what the difference is between a Warrior and a Knight aside from the fact Knights can use magic against their enemies? Shouldn't the Warrior have something to make them equal in strength to the Knights?

Also, this is just an idea I came up with if you want to use it. I was going to ask what type of magic the Knights use? I was thinking since they're melee you could add a type of magic for weapon users only -- Infusion, the act of fusing powers and magic into their weapons. Just a thought I had at the last minute

I think that's it o_o

For the Knights, they're really only able to use Holy/Healing magic, but they can use other magic as well. I'd have to see what i specifically limited them to, but I suppose they're more intelligent than your average warrior so they can use the Written magic as well as Spoken...
They won't be able to use Magick, as that... is another class for another time.. lol.
I may have to edit.. just lemme check my thread, lol.

I have a basic idea for where we start off... but I'm also thinking that where we start off isn't going to have a whole army at it's doorstep, either. Let's play the sneaky sneaky evil recruiter approach, eh?
There will be another patron at the inn/tavern area, where Orion is going to be playing his harp. Oh! Gotta create his bio if I haven't already...
*goes to do just taht now... and is thinking of adding a "character cast" area to the RPG Project Wiki area...*

You're just some travellers... but you all stop at the Royal Splendor, in the city of Sharon... one of the four Haven cities that surround Janeron... though they aren't Havens yet, in the timeline we'll be playing in. The past must be set before the future can unfold, after all...
Plus, this'll give insight later when I/we/maybe other people play in the present of Na'Damor... it'll make sense, lol. I hope.
Let's just concentrate on the past for now.

Orion is a very strange man... eheh. I have a few ideas, too... but they won't be revealed until later in the plot. For now, he remains the Bard... a man with an excellent reputation as a Bard, and rumors abound about him.
Mysterious... hehehe.
Oh, and there's going to be one other patron.. but I won't create his bio... not yet... he's just an NPC for now... and we'll see where it goes... eheh.
