A Voice

There is a voice in the darkness
A voice crying out for the Lord
A voice in the darkness
Calling for the Lord

I search for the voice
And find only the cross
'A voice calls out for you,
Why do you not go?'

A voice calls out in the darkness
I go to find it's source
The voice calls out closer now
Yet I still see not it's mouth

Again I find only the cross
'Why do you not go?.
Can't you hear the voice'
"My child come and find Peace!"

The voice calls from the darkness
But yet he remains
So I go seeking the voice
But again find only the cross

'Why do you not go?'
"I've gone 3 times but you turn away!"
'But the voice calls out still."
"Only because you don't let me in."

My voice was calling out in the darkness
Crying for the Lord
But mine too is the darkness
Where shame had me run to hide.
