• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Here's a verse of encouragement to all my friends who are feeling "low". I have always known, although from time to time I forget, there is power in scripture. When I've been very very low the truths in the Bible have been my cornerstone and have kept me safe from the harm. I hope the same for all my friends here.

Add a verse if the Lord gives you one!

He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary. Young men stumble and fall. But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will mount up on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not grow faint.

2 Corinthian 1:3

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. 5For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.

There used to be a similar thread but when I looked for it a while ago I couldn't find it and it's pretty old so it's good to start a new one.

Psalms 91:15
He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. (KJV)

Psalms 25

[1] Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul.
[2] O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.
[3] Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.
[4] Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.
[5] Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.
[6] Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy loving kindnesses; for they have been ever of old.
[7] Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness' sake, O LORD.

Hi, while posting scripture is fine, please try to make this also recovery related perhaps by showing how a scripture has helped you today in your recovery or struggles with bi-polar. There are forums for posting scripture such as in deeper fellowship, so it would be great if this thread would have recovery related posts within the same posts of scripture. Thanks. Please pm someone at Recovery if you have any questions or need help with this. Thanks.

So often in this journey of living with and survivng the ups and downs of Bipolar I have forgotten one truth...He is there whether I see Him or not. He loves me whether I love me or not. He is holding me even when I ask not.

"I will not leave you without help as children without parents. I will come to you." (John14:18)

As difficult as life is, I don't know what I would do without having a life hidden in Christ and able to come to Him with all kinds of prayers and requests at any time.

Colossians 3:3
For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.

Ephesians 6:18
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.

God Bless You,

I just wanted to share a poem to encourage each and everyone of you.

Joy Comes in the Morning

Author Tanya Merced
Book-A Touch of Peace
Copyright 2006

The morning has come and I have no desire to embrace it.
Just desperate cries welling deep within me.
Anger has consumed the inner-most core of my being and I have no strength to unlock the door that once was opened.

Frustrated and disturbed by my own weakness I turn to my own devices and again I’m left alone.
Rage has cleverly disguised itself and has become my most intimate friend.
I no longer have the willpower to uninvited guests that linger so deep within my mind.
In despair I fall to my knees and cry out to this Jesus I once knew.

He comforts me and wipes away my tears.
He gently holds me and my fears disappear as He recalls why He died upon that broken tree.
He carries me off and closes the door to my past.
Once again the morning comes, but this time I am filled with everlasting joy that consumes my inner-most core.
I am renewed and I now have the strength to wrap my arms around it affectionately.

"…Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning" (Ps. 30:5).

Prayer: Father I thank you that my sorrows are washed the way the minute I surrender them to you. Lord at times I may not understand why I must suffer so, but I thank you that you prepare a joyous celebration for me. I thank you that when Jesus returns in the morning I will have everlasting joy. In Jesus name, amen.

Humm. Well I agree that I don't often venture in too many other forumns on CF so it is helpful to have a scripture thread here. Mostly I think with bipolars our mind often gets full of Satan's lies (atleast mine does) and I need these scriptures to remind me of the truth when I'm low and negative.

Beginning Today...

Today
look in a mirror
and notice
that the person
who greets you
is beautiful,
inside and out.

Today
say to yourself that
you know nothing is
impossible.
Remind yourself that
every one of your dreams
is within reach.

Today
think about all of
the people who love you,
who see the beauty in you,
and begin to look at yourself
in the same way.

I know how hard it is sometimes to believe I am loved reguardless of the way I feel or act. Realizing who I am in Christ is of uptmost importance.

I am accepted..because...
(John 1:12) I am a child of God
(John 15:15) I am Christs friend
(Rom 5:1) I have been justified
(Eph 1:5) I have been adopted as God's child.
(Col 1:14) I have been redeemed and forgiven of all my sins.
(Col 2:10) I am complete in Christ.

Thanks JC that was super awesome.

Here's a song of encouragement:

  • I have a Maker
    He formed my heart
    Before even time began
My life was in his hands
    • Chorus
      He knows my name
      He knows my every thought
He sees each tear that falls
and He hears me when I call
    I have a Father
    He calls me His own
    He'll never leave me
    No matter where I go
    • Chorus
      He knows my name
      He knows my every thought
He sees each tear that falls
and He hears me when I call
