First question..
Do we as Catholics believe that the Pope is infallible when it comes to interpretting (sp?) scripture?
And if so..
Second question..
If the Pope is supposedly infallible at intepretting Scripture, why did he misinterpret the passages about God making the sun stop moving so Gideon (maybe it was Joshua) could have more daylight to fight in battle, thinking that it meant that solar system was geocentric, when it's true that the solar system is heliocentric?
We're just discussing Galileo in history and I was thinking about this. Cus if the Pope is infallible when it comes to interpretting Scripture, why did he get this wrong?
