  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

A true story on how God works
A true story on how God works
Katerina Vayos also called Yiayia to many was born in Smyrni Minor Asia. When she was 2 yrs old the Turks took over and she and her family had to flee to Peristeri in Athens. Her and her 2 sisters Xrisa and Eleni had to live in tents where Eleni the middle sister got pneumonia and died at age 4. Katerina was baptized by St. Nectarios. When she got married to George Vayos she had 2 sons Julio and Thomas. Her husband worked on ships that went to America . After many tries he managed to stay in NY. Her husband brought their two sons to NY in 1963 and by 1965 she arrived.
During her life she was very devoted to God:crosseo:
she was a good wife a loving mother to her sons and her grandson George.
She was a religious model to many and was used by God many times by prayers and the sign of cross she healed evil eyes headaches and sickness of family and friends. One of her lasts works was to ask her grandson Tommy to have a son to carry the family‘s last name. She gave him an icon and asked him to pray to God :crossrc:over it and to ask God for a son. Within 2 weeks Tommy and his wife conceived a baby boy. And that miracle helped Tommy to find God and get involved in the Greek Orthodox Church which in turn help Yiayia in her last years. He called Father John:liturgy: to visit her in nursing home giving her Holy Communion and on 8/17/08 reading her the last rights in the hospital. She prayed a lot and for 2 – 3 hours at the time. When she was fasting she only allowed herself to drink water and eat bread. God gave her a lot of dreams and some of them were future events or warnings. One of them was 5 yrs ago telling her that she will die in 5 yrs which this came true this year.
We are all going to miss her and we love her very much. :groupray:
