I hope you don't mind if I dissect it a bit. I like your idea but I have a few suggestions for lyric changes. That is if you want a more accurate message.

change last line. (his faith is my shield) You don't fight for your faith. Faith is a gift of God. You can have a shield of faith but it is not necessary to fight for faith. The shield of faith is used to fend of the enemies darts.

I would suggest (To resist the devil)
(As Jesus who died)
Again, as Christians, we don't fight the devil. He is already defeated. We resist him and he flees. We resist him not for Jesus who died but for ourselves that we may overcome as Jesus did.

As a Christian, you already knocked at his door. No need to knock after you die since he already opened it. (no suggestions) except maybe last line (I'll battle no more) instead of knocking at his door
