A short theory about mohammed.

Mohammed was initially a good guy with a megalomaniac streak. He wanted to be a christian, learned about it but just could not get the trinity. For whatever reason he was a special target of the devil who ultimately succeeded in convincing him that christ wasn't the son of God, that Jesus wasn't crucified, that he was greater than all prophets including the "prophet" jesus. This man was more and more made to believe he was a prophet as the devil kept appearing to him as the angel gabriel and telling him things that he thought were the best thing since sliced bread. Everything he heard rang true to him because while it was ostensibly meant to glorify allah, it really was glorifying him. Ever notice how no prophet of old except the non-prophet but God, the Universal lord Jesus had no cult of personality around him? Even moses wasn't universally followed and eventually even banned from entering the promised land. Elijah, considered by many the greatest of the old testament prophets was hated and disobeyed. Mohammed was designing on being king of the world. If he could have lived long enough he would have reigned as emperor and eventually probably even declared himself to be allah. That was not in the cards though. The man was very shrewd. He managed to bring christians and pagans to himself even today many even sleep and brush their teeth and grow beards in exactly the manner he did. Have you ever read the hadeeth? Then there are the shiites who ultimately are going to be the religious backers of the evil, ecumenical and secular antichrist. They have a legend upon legend that the prophecy was not for mohammed but for ali. And they have a legend of the mehdi who fell in a well and will come back to life and rule. Ever hear of the antichrist people? He will die and will be resurrected. Now here's the philosophy so I won't get removed from this board. Islam is what I would call an antiparallel of christianity, especially shiism which is a downright parody of christianity with the martyr hussein who they still to this day slash themselves for inviting devils to enter their bodies for the pretext of mourning a man of no religious significance. I saw them in the city one time doing it. It is sick.

Can't prove any of it. Just thought I'd make a theory like everyone else around here does. Philosophically the concept of antiparallel is a nice big word one can throw around to be cute. But that is not my intention. I don't even need to be philosophical. I just thought I'd answer someone who said tell me why you don't believe in all the other deities. I'm here to answer.

I think with all the heresies being kicked around at the time, and the Arab tribes relative remoteness, Mohammed either grew confused or simply tired of the apparent disagreement in Christianity, the quickly becoming dominant religion, and made his own that made sense to him, using figures from Christianity.

Just speculation, but it makes some sense.

my dad's always ragging on the muslims too (no pun intended). i have no informed idea what they believe, but i'm sure something along the line has been corrupted and screwed up since Islam's founding, to where we have all these conspiracy theories against it.

it's important for Christians not to start attacking other religions without any backup info - otherwise you make us look like hypocrites. dontcha hate it when peeps start making biased conjectures about Christianity?
