Shepherd for a lifetime
Wondered astray father
Didnt keep thy commandments
Did as mine soul pleased
All the flesh willed was all i did
Drank from the wine of the wrath lord
Fashioned myself like the world
So that there was no difference between
The sheep and the wolf
Yet somewhere in the middle of it all Jesus
Thy sheep found herself writhing in agony
Mine worldly friends hath left me
To them I was no longer valuable
And alone I found mine self standing
Could almost hear thy lost sheep inside bleating for its master
Lord yea had saved all the good sheep
The ones that had followed thee
But the ninety nine wouldnt do for thee
For yea are a caring and forgiving father
So there i stood holy Jesus
And somewhere inside thy sheep had its master voice calling
Oh the shepherds voice was like a rush of waters
Immediately healing the wounds that i thought would never go away
Yea came and found me in that desert
Held me in thine arms as if i was most deserving
Thy heavenly smell intoxicating the sinner inside
