A Rose for Ecclesiastes

I read this story when I was a teenage atheist, and never forgot it. When I became a Christian, I approached Ecclesiastes with some trepidation, because of this story, but now I know that both are life-affirming. Christian Science Fiction is just too rare not to share - read it here:

Wow, that story is amazing, and unusual, very original and creative. It was sad, to read how Gallinger suffered, from a religious abusive father, a father who is suppose to be a man of God, yet was cruel and beat the Bible into his son. I think we all agree that is not the way to teach a child faith in the word of God. I think maybe Gallinger found his faith again, is that what happened? Roses are so beautiful, I love flowers.

Did he find his faith again? Maybe, and maybe not he had it before, but it's best not to try to dictate what the reader takes away from the story.

Certainly a great story, by a great writer.

The big problem is that Zelazny doesn't seem to understand what the word "vanity" means in KJV English.
