  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I would like to pose a question here for discussion.

If we have a given thing which we know God's perspective on, assuming our perspective as man is different from God's, when should we assume (walk by) our perspective rather than God's?

That would be rebellious and arragont. Also dumb.
Who is smarter? God or man.
The correct answer is God.:)

This is an interesting question. I think Lucifer asked it about 10 gazillion BC.

JI packer said we have two choices: saint or brute. If we choose our way when we know it is contrary to God's, we are saying that we know better than God. Jesus Christ showed how a man would live when he always did things God's way. We have to decide: Do we want to be like Christ? Paul made it clear: the only other alternative is slavery to sin.

What if by looking at ourselves in our experience we came up with a different perspective than what is revealed in God's word? Like God was telling us something that if we were to look at ourselves we would have to determine that God lied.

God's word is true.

If a life experience is different than what God says then the experience is wrong as well as the perspective received from it.

Change the perspective to fit God's word. Our experiences never prove God wrong. If one learns God's ways and does them then the experiences will line up with the truth(God's word) and be true experiences. :)
