I'm 17 years old, Pentecostal, and I go to church by myself and believe in creationism and all other facts the Bible shows me due to the pure grace of the living God who through His Holy Spirit has revealed me these things.
No one taught me about creationism, I didn't follow mommy and daddy to church, I am a Bible-believing Christian because I chose to be.
Haha to those atheists that think all Christians believe what they do due to their parents. Can we stop the ignorance please?
The other side of the coin is if you state that Christians got their beliefs from their parents like its some set back then what about all the other things they say we get from our parents. Surveys show that kids are more likely to get into trouble from parents who have also been in trouble. The highest stats for problems like drugs, crime with the younger generation comes from the parents.
Thats the same for many things such as politics and sports. Its only natural to a point that a kid sees a particular political party or sports team followed in the house especially if its a young boy following his dad. But eventually you would hope that they grow up and work it out for themselves. It's not that it's necessarily a "set back", but it does give the lie to one religion or another possessing the "truth"....people follow a certain religion, not because they have stood back before establishing an allegiance and objectively assessing the accuracy of each.....no, they follow the religion of their fellows and then declare their religion to be 'true'...

In fact I think when it comes to religion and maybe politics that there can be a rebellion against the parents beliefs. The typical situation is the preachers kid who gets into trouble because they dont want to follow their dads religion. Even with Hindu now where there are things like arranged marriages the kids are finding their own way and not following the families practices.
You actually focused on the second part of what I was saying. I did agree that things like religion is passed down from parents just like politics and other beliefs. Its in the house and talked about. I ended up following my dads footy team but I guess i learn to like them for my own reasons as well as I got older. I think as part of a growing person you would hope that you can question things and then form your own views about things. But like certain character traits and ways of doing things as child does take on their parents ways a lot. But I was mainly referring to Hindu beliefs where the family have moved to western countries. The young people are not following all their parents beliefs especially things like arranged marriages and going out drinking and socializing which is frowned upon by the older generations. There are two things wrong with that argument....it's not borne out by the facts....and.....it's not borne out by the facts...!
The simple truth is that people follow the religions they were introduced to, usually family. And, if your argument had merit, we should see a wide pattern of differing religions between father and son and then grandson...
We don't.......by and large, people remain with the affiliation of their youth....what you propose is anything but "typical"....it is the exception....

We're talking about Nathan Poe, not Consol. He is, actually. He just uses different screen names ("sock puppets") often, perhaps daily.
This doesn't even deserve a response. This is just AV trolling.

You were talking about the wrong person. Console hasn't posted since the date that I gave. So, this is just an attempt at trolling.
