  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

So a good man (better then me, and most likely you) goes to the worst immaginable place for an enternity? Who knows, maybe if he had been born into a Western culture he would have been a Christian. A the same could have happened to you. What if you where born in an Eastern culture? What kind of a god would do that to good people?

If there is a Buddhist monk, who does nothing but sit on a mountainside feeding a goat and meditating, and has never lied, cheated, or committed a crime, but does not accept Jesus as his savior, does he go to heaven?
That is for God to decide, not us.

I hope you aren't intending to engage in a debate, this is not a debate forum.

God has given us a path to Salvation, it's up to us to follow it.

God has given us a path to Salvation, it's up to us to follow it.
However, God is love and who is to say that those whom are unable to follow it, or unable to get to the path, are not given mercy?

He does if he was/is/always will be morally perfect (Matthew 5:48). Perfect people need no forgiveness or salvation.

Well I would say that since you have the opportunity to learn about Jesus as your personal Savior and draw closer to God not to pass it up and who knows you might be the very one to find that Buddhist Monk. Who knows he might be waiting on that mountain top for you to share salvation with him. That might be why he's meditating.

What did Christ say about this? There lies your answer.

if he does nothing he has already broken the first commandment.all have sinned every one needs Jesus.
this concept is the core of the issue -
the poster is viewing evil as just "not doing _fill in the blank__sins".

The true evil is not acknowledging the true God and giving Him glory
as well as repenting of sin.
The poster assumes that noone sins if they seem passive and
moral.

& what does a Buddhist believe? there is no God to worship,
and on self reliance.

perfect morality is not sinlessness.

You can be perfectly moral, yet harbor inner evil that you just
don't express outwardly.

ie. take a look at the Pharisees

3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
Plus we're born of sin. Everyone needs forgiveness. Only Jesus was born perfect and never sinned.

What's with the good works camp I'm seeing lately? More and more people are coming out of nowhere insisting that God accepts "Good people" when not one of us can be considered good..

It is not my place to judge the salvation of this man, has he heard the Gospel and still has not accepted Jesus?
first off, everyone sins, it could be something like hurting someones feelings, being lazy and not wanting to help, something, everyone has done something that is a sin
heaven is not a place that people earn the right to be in, it is a place for those who are friends of God
the worst sinner can be sorry for his sins, after a life time of hurting people, die and go to heaven, and a monk can live his entire life helping people, but if he is not a friend of Christ, he will go to hell

We believe in Christian morals. The term moral comes from the Latin mores which means to imitate. So, Christian morals = to imitate Christ.

In Christianity to be non-Christian in fact is immoral no matter how good you are. That is the answer.

As Aslan says, in the chronicles of Narnia, "That's not your story." This kind of speculation, while teasing the brain, really doesn't help anyone. What is your story?
