A question for adults.

How do I know that God is calling me to do the things I do?

I mean I have some doubts. Right now I am a student leader at my youth group. I feel like I'm being called into ministry. Pastoral or youth ministries I don't know. I also recently launched a christian teen blog with a few of the kids from youth.

How do I know these things are from God?
I struggle with porn and other sin. How am I in any place to lead? I want to please God but when I get tempted I completely forget my faith and do things such as look at porn... There are times where I feel terrible about it and other times I don't even care. I'm very confused...

Well,I think you should avoid things that gives you this desire(or any other sin) , like magazines and other pictures.When you have a desire,try to read a book ,see a movie , play a sport,hear a music.I don't know if you play musical instruments,but this helped me a lot.And God will guide you in this journey.
But now ,I can resist much more.
God will help you and try to focus more in your ministry and this help you too.

I've found that sometimes when you have to teach others about something, you learn it better yourself.
I constantly am asked to tutor people at school and I'm often asked why I spend so much time helping others rather than studying myself.
For me, I find I learn so much about myself when I am required to explain it in detail.

Maybe this is why God is calling you to ministry - so you can learn through teaching.


Or alternatively, it's pretty frustrating to be offered advice from someone who has never been in your situation. How can you expect to help other people combat their sins and temptations if you've never experienced it.

A few questions.

1) Do you have any evidence from your life, or the Bible(devotions you have recently read), that would make it seem remotely likely that youth ministry is somewhere God wants you?

2) Can you see yourself actually doing it?

3) Which one do you think about more: to be in youth ministry, or to not be in youth ministry?

4) Are you actively working on those sins you mentioned, or are you merely letting them linger?

I think that being a youth pastor or something is a great idea. My favorite two devotions are Lamentations 3:1-26 and Job 2:1-9... They talk about keeping your faith through times of struggle. I felt God was calling me down this path about a month ago, but I still struggled with Porn Addiction then. I don't feel his call as strong now, but I notice my Porn Addiction is quickly improving, with a lot of work on my part. It's a tough road, the ministry road, but with work and dedication, it can be done.
You just need to make sure that it IS what you want to do with your life, and work on making your problem better.
