A question about how we should live our life.

Hi, I'm new to the forum, but thought it would be great to chat to other christians as none of my friends are religious.

I'm 16, believe in God, and I think I have a relationship with him, I feel I can talk to him and he will answer, but I have a question.

I know that our life belongs to God, I have accepted that and have given my life to him, I think, but my question is, how do you know if you are pleasing him with what you are doing? Like, I have heard God doesn't like it when you 'run away and do your own thing' rather than what God wants, but how do you know what God wants for you? Is it definitive from the start? Or is it 'made up' as you go along.

I have spoken to God about it, and have decided that if I trust him ( I do ) and live my life as clean as I can, than he will guide me to do the things that he wants me to do. But every now and then I get doubts as to if I'm doing the right thing, I need this clearing up for me basically.

As I have said, I have spoken to God about it and I think he said that he will guide me if I live correctly and trust him, but for some reason I have doubts sometimes, that maybe it wasn't him saying it, that maybe satan is trying to lead me astray..

To be honest, whilst typing this I have grown more confident in that what I wrote up there ^ ^ is correct, but I would still like your opinions on it. Thanks :)

It sounds like your on the right track. My only other suggestion is to maybe pray before things and ask that the Lord will help you do the right thing in that situation or whatever it is. Other than that, let Him guide you.

Thanks Chilaha, I have done some praying, asking him to guide me to do what he wants me to do, then, the other day, my sister saw me reading the bible and said that one of her friends does bible study in university and loves it, and I got the feeling thats the direction God wants me to go. If not, I'm sure he'll let me know. :)
