"You are not your own, for you were bought....with a price...."1 Corinthians 6:19-20

The Apostle pleads that we should submit to be possessed by the One who has purchased us. Christian people are a purchased people.
You, ....says Paul, have been bought with a price. The people here had heard much from the lips of the Apostle about the cross of Jesus, our blessed Redeemer. I do not suppose it to be possible for us to imagine the joy that came to them when, under his teaching, they had seen the possibility of pardon and peace with God.
Having fallen so deeply into the quagmire of sin, they heard the apostle proclaim that God had come in the person of His Son and had borne the full penalty of their sin on the tree of Calvary; and they had come to trust Him as their Saviour.
"But now," says the apostle, "Look again will you, you gazed believingly at the cross when I preached Jesus to you; but I want you to look at that self-same cross again. You remember that I told you that God, by the precious blood of the Lord Jesus, had purchased you for an inheritance. But listen' says the apostle, 'the self-same blood that purchased Redemption for you, has purchased you. You no longer belong to yourselves. The very blood of Redemption has purchased you unto God. You are bought with a price......"
God has brought you too, to the place where you have seen Jesus dying in your place, and the burden of your sin has been taken away. You have realised that the blood of Jesus which purchased Redemption for you, at the self-same moment established the incontrovertible right of Christ to all your life?
The cross of Jesus established the divine prerogative, the crown rights of the Redeemer, over every life among the Redeemed of the Lord. The blood of Jesus has bought you to be the glad vassal of the Saviour.
