To be sung by trees
As Your Spirit, Oh Lord rushes through our branches and leafs
We can do nothing else but sing to You.
Our roots dig deep and remember back
When the soles of your feet walked the earth.
Our joy was complete, each ray of sun a blessing.
We ache for you return, Oh Lord.
The wind of Your Spirit rushes through,
So leaf and branch do cry:
"oh Lord, how we yearn for You.
We long for Your sabbath rest.
For Your feet to touch the earth,
Like a long forgotten kiss."
But our knarled trunks are paitient,
So we sit and wait
For that blessed day.
When you voice splits open the mountains
And roars like the sea.
As Your Spirit, Oh Lord rushes through our branches and leafs
We can do nothing else but sing to You.
Our roots dig deep and remember back
When the soles of your feet walked the earth.
Our joy was complete, each ray of sun a blessing.
We ache for you return, Oh Lord.
The wind of Your Spirit rushes through,
So leaf and branch do cry:
"oh Lord, how we yearn for You.
We long for Your sabbath rest.
For Your feet to touch the earth,
Like a long forgotten kiss."
But our knarled trunks are paitient,
So we sit and wait
For that blessed day.
When you voice splits open the mountains
And roars like the sea.
