A Problem with the Flash fowards...

Anyone else finding yourself really enjoying the flash forwards, but also having an issue.

The issue?

Since we know someone is alive the future..and off the island...then ...

When that same person is still on the island - the show's current time - and they get in danger - I already know they'll be just fine.

I know Kate, Jack, Hurley, Ben, Sun and Aaron are NOT going to be the ones who end up dead in any of those times when they're threatened.

Reminds me of seeing the "new" Star Wars movies....you knew Anakin wouldn't die...since he was Darth Vader in his future.

What do you all think?

I had that thought last night too. But I think this is Darlton's show, and they're going to unfold the reveals in a way that will have the most impact on us. So if they don't think it's a hindrance to the drama for me to know that Sayid got off the island okay, they must have other twists and turns in store for us instead.

At this point, I think I have a lot of confidence in them as story tellers, so I don't let it bother me too much.

Yeah, Snooch, I understand what you mean. There are certainly still mysteries that we're finding out about...even in the flash forwards.

But...I'm just saying....unless somehow they're fooling us again....at least we do know some things that we just didn't know before....and that makes it less tense when those folks are in danger now on the island.

In the past...we never knew who would get killed off...but last week, for example when Hurley was holding Aaron..I knew they'd both make it.

It was probably because they moved away from that window.

Plus, we don't know if the rest of the losties (not the oceanic 6) actually die or what happens to them, so there is suspense in that story line. I do know what you mean though. That's exactly what I was thinking when I saw previews for the next episode with Jack being sick. I'm thinking "who cares?"".

I did see you said something along those lines in the main thread....and I thought...yep, that's what I mean.

I'm sure we'll get more details from the incident with Jack, though. We did see him heading into that in the last show..since he was having discomfort or pain...and was taking antibiotics.
