my friend Mary's grandpa grew very sick this past week and was told that his time would be short lived. He hadn't eaten in days and he couldn't talk or really move all he could do was listen. Mary flew out to Tulsa to be with him. Well a lot of people in Mary's family -I'll just come out and say it- hates Christians and the church. So the Word is really looked down on in her house and her and her parents are some times judged for it. Well the hospice people who were working there taking care of her grandpa were Baptists and they prayed for her granpa every time they thought about it (which was alot) well Mary's parents flew in from Cambodia where they were doing mission work. And they came inthe room with her grandpa and starting singing old hymns. Mary's grandmother came in and in a very soft voice said "you know grandpa loed old hymns." But that's not the story. The story is that for 77 years this man had a rebuttle he would challenge the Christians in the family and always have some scientific "proof" that God isn't real, but on his death bed... He listened to every word that they preached to him. he couldn't talk but every time they mentioned God he raised his eyebrows. 77 years of nothingness but in the end he finally found that God is there for him and God loves him. I think that that's pretty amazing.
