Not an especially difficult 'exegesis' to do, but just putting that out there. 'At the last trump' verse reminds us it is 'with the shout of the Archangel'.
That is the Angel called "Michael", also called 'the Angel of the Lord', and 'the Angel of Jesus'.
We first really meet this Angel in the books of Moses, he is the one that God said to Moses, 'will prepare the way for you'. And, 'he will not be as forgiving, as he has my Name on him'.
Very likely, as Moses is said to have spent a lot of time in the tent with him, this is the one who told Moses what to write, in regards to much of the history.
There is an interesting symbiotic relationship between the elect angels and the elect humans.
A "trumpet" can also be called a "shout". Symbolically speaking. What do they both do? They are loud demonstrations, loud statements. As we see with the one verse, the last trumpet ties in even to the resurrection of the dead. So, we can logically follow that this trumpet actually goes quite a long way from when it first is sounded. And there is, therefore, a tie in with all of the following verses.
Not surprising, as this is the Angel who Jesus gave to give to John (as he had previously given to Moses), "The Book".
The first of it, and the last of it.
As for my assertion here, we see this proven out with previous trumpet blasts of the previous angels: a long string of events were to follow. But, the last is the longest.
Finally, just because earth does not know something, does not mean Heaven also does not know it. Remember, it is one thing to be able to hear a difficult message, but another matter to be able to hear it and retain it. There are much easier messages to hear and retain.
Even if the whole world can not.
