I'm sorry if this is in the wrong place. A friend suggested I post this poem. I wrote it a while ago.


~ No Matter ~

No matter that you ripped all security
that cool dark night
vengefully unleashing your anger
onto me
undeservedly
changing my life...
my outlook...
shattering all sensibilities and trusts
ripping my reality to shreds.
You wanted your power trip
and after, ran like the coward you are.

Laying there
unable to move
excruciating pain
the beginning of hell
Why didn't you kill me?

Torrential emotions
night terrors, sanity slipping
looking behind doors, under beds
constant awareness...
Fear is your power, a cancerous growth
feeding on self doubts.
I won't let you win!

I still feel your breath on my neck
sour, rancid
like the core of your being
rotting deep within

No matter.
You will never have my Soul.
