A newbie to the Forums and also a New Christian

Hi, I am Raine. I am 21 years old will be turning 22 on June 24th. I accepted Jesus Christ into my life on December 7th, 2014 after living 21 years in total hell. I am so thankful that Jesus is working in my life and know with Him I can conquer anything.

Other than waking up with a little stomach bug this morning(that is why I am home from work), I am doing really well. I am taking this journey one day at a time. I have been through a lot in my almost 22 years of life(if you would like to know more feel free to read the About Me section in my profile) and am pretty messed up, but if anyone can fix me up it is Jesus.

You are most welcome! How is your new journey treating you? Have you found a group of like minded individuals whom you can share fellowship with? Have you started digging through the Bible to understand the story about God? Do you have a regular church you're attending?

I remember when I was at the stage you are now, it was such an amazing experience. I had such a zeal for the Lord and to learn everything I could. I wanted to tell the world all the things that God was revealing to me. I lost a lot of "friends" during that time, but I made some new relationships as well.

I am excited for you. Use these forums to further your relationship with God! A word of caution though, there is a lot of bad influence to be found as well. Be wary!!

My best friend now is one of my co-workers and she is the one who saw I was a mess and asked me if I wanted to hangout and eventually attend Church with her. I have mostly stuck with reading Matthew, Mark, and Luke in the New Testament with a little of the other books in the New Testament as well. The Church I am attending has a wonderful group of women that have took me under there wings and are helping me so much.

This is awesome, how inspiring!! Thank you so much for sharing with me. Nothing wrong with starting with the Gospel portion of the New Testament. It's interesting to read about Jesus on earth, but some of the parables can be confusing for a new Christian. A lot of them pertain to having faith. Faith is the belief in the unseen, in something yet to come. The majority of the rest of the books of the New Testament are written by the apostle Paul. I feel a certain connection to this man, and I love reading his teachings. He had quite a conversion experience, much like I did.

When I became a new Christian and understood the sin of my past I began to feel so much guilt. I hope that you will not feel that way. Please understand that we are still sinners, even now. This is why we need to trust in the Lord, because He can do what we cannot. I wish you all the best with your fellowship of women. I hope that you grow in faith as a godly woman of Christ.

Tigger45- Thank You so much it is great to be here.

Doug- Sometimes things from the Bible do seem to get a little confusing, but I usually contact one of the ladies from Church and they are willing to help me understand a little more. I will definitely get into the rest of the New Testament pretty soon. I have read a few of the Psalms from the Old Testament and they were beautiful. There are days I feel guilt for some of the things I have done in my life, but I have repented of those sins and know the Jesus has washed me clean. I also understand that I am still a sinner and still sin everyday. So I am always on my knees at night praying that Jesus would take those sins out of my life as well.

All are welcome in the Congregational forums as long as you don't teach against their teachings - i.e. you cannot advocate against Catholic teachings within the Catholic section.
