I'm new here, but I object to the term 'Golden Eagle', it makes me sound real old, and I just turned 50.
Is there a forum called 'you're actually over 50 but you want people to believe you're still in your 40s, or maybe even 30s'?

I'm sorry, but I'm still young and hip and with it. As a matter of fact, I'm going to get out my paper and #2 pencil and notepad, write a strongly worded letter to the moderator of this forum, stick it in an envelope, put a stamp on it, wait for the post office to open, and mail it to him/her.

I'll let you know how I make out when I get my reply. Gotta go now, I think there's some kids on my lawn

Welcome on the GE website. When I was 50, felt that I wanted to participate in church singles events with age groups in the 50's, 40's and 30's. Some church groups have singles groups ages 30's to early 60's; other groups have ages 50 and over, and some have age 40 and over. I think it is good for people in their 50's to be involved in church singles activities and Christian websites for people of various ages, 30's and 40's and also age 50 and over. I guess people who are age 50 or early 50's are mid-life between the different age groups.

with older / much older folks, with whom I felt a greater infinity
My peers [of old] have ALWAYS seemed to be, so immature
and often, also infantile (of mind)

Remembering, that we are...all of-us, 'individuals'
You might wish to [later] reconsider your view ~as a member of 'The Golden Eagles'
A fine and decent bunch of folks, as you might ever meet up with

Hi I'm new here, and it's nice to find a place for 50 plus people.

Although being 50 I am not sure if I am 'golden' LOL.

I have a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that I am now in my golden years, where has time gone? Wasn't I just 30?

Thanks Dave, I will check it out. I only feel old some days, other days I mentally feel '20' it's just that my body doesn't agree with me.
