  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

last sunday a message was givin to me through my preacher it was titled "worship" and i've never heard the story of abraham and isaac like this before!!!! it was overwhelming because the message became a very powerful message and it went something like this

"open your bibles to genesis 22 chapter verse 3-13
3 And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.
4 Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off.
5 And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you.
6 And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together.
7 And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?
8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.
9 And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.
10 And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.
11 And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I.
12 And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.
13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.

ok now to show you something that i think 95% of evangelist, preachers, prophets and leaders miss this.
First is the 5th verse
5 And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you.
notice abraham said WE WILL COME BACK i use the niv version but this is the kjv, anyway the point is ABRAHAM KNEW HIM AND HIS SON WERE COMING BACK!!!!! abraham and isaac both saw JESUS. JESUS CONFIRMS THIS"will discuss this later" heres the verse "7" a lamb for the offering but was it not a ram caught in the thicket. third point abraham said we will worship, every time abraham got out of worship he messed up, only in worship did he complete the trials and things GOD had him do, worship is not raising your hands or shouting or singing its letting your spirit bow before GOD almighty and empting yourself and to expect , now to prove JESUS confimes my statement turn to john chapter 8: 55-56 55 Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his saying.
56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it , and was glad.

abraham & isaac saw JESUS ,now my pastor and I believe this, GOD may have been testing abraham's faith but we believe that the TRUE message was that GOD was revealing to abraham that THE LAMB OF GOD WAS COMING TO be SACRAFISED, some of you may not believe this but john the baptise was JESUS'S FIRST COUSIN now try to Imagin if these two had met as kids or as teenagers only once did john call JESUS the LAMB OF GOD WHO TAKEN AWAY THE SINS OF THE WORLD i believe THE SPIRIT REVEALED TO john WHO JESUS WAS right then right there anyway WORSHIP ISN'T A SUNDAY THING ITS A SPIRIT THING AN ANNOUNCEMENT TO GOD THAT YOUR HERE BEFORE HIM PRAISING HIM WITH THAT I LEAVE YOU WITH THIS THOUGHT EVERY OLD AND NEW PROPHET WHO LEFT WORSHIP WAT DID THEY GAIN? WHEN THEY DID WORSHIP WHAT DID THEY DO?

That's a significant one! What a wonderful insight!

The other thing they miss -- God didn't ask him to sacrifice Isaac. God asked Abraham to take Isaac along.

Abraham assumed he'd have to because he hadn't brought an animal. Abraham was willing to give up anything for God, but God was gracious and didn't let him do that.

Similarly, Jesus volunteered. Both knew that the sacrifice was important, and that sin needed to be absolved. But as you said, both knew that giving their all wasn't the end.
