A more recent poem. I can post my meaning behind it if you want. But I prefer to hear your interpretations.
So, here goes. "A New Dawn"
In a sleepy state of mind
I reach the hilltop I have sought
With half-closed eyes
- I look upon the morning sky
Looking for the light of a new day
Longing for my bed, wishing for sleep
I feel the morning chill shake me up
-sending its cold to touch my bones
arms crossed
- Shoulders lowered
I shudder and shiver. Shook by cold
- I long for the comfort of sleep
Then, in the horizon I spot what I came to see
I see the suns first rays pierce the dark
I see warmth brought forth into this frozen realm
I feel lifegiving light melt away my frozenness
And I straighten my back, letting my arms go
- from their protectivce stance
- from their closing position
It is as if the world is let ablaze, the suns first rays
- dance upon the forests before me
- bathe the world in warmth
A tear is brought to my eye
As I see the beauty of this new dawn
