I brought this over from the previous thread. I didn't get a very good response but isn't that what a forum like this is about. But, my thoughts and feelings expressed here are where I stand. Erwin, I am with you. Lord, what would you have me do....

Didn't Jesus Himself "invite war" with the religious leaders of his day every time he sat down at the dinner table with sinners?

I have no desire to debate you...we are supposed to be on the same side. I also have no desire to be personally attacked or asked if I am insane by someone who is my sister in Christ. I can tolerate it from someone who does not know better.

In my very first post in this thread, I shared my grief at the anamosity being expressed here among my brothers and sisters toward one another. I should have gone to bed right then. I have allowed myself to be drawn into this argument and debate.... one I don't think anyone really and truly understands.

This really isn't about whether the forum is more open or closed. Whether it should be for Christians or open to non-Christians. Whether unbelievers should moderate or not. Those are just the tools of argument the enemy happens to be using at the moment.

Erwin is following the leading of the Holy Spirit. If your desire is to support your brother in his endeavor, then stay, be a part of the forum and hold up his arms.

If you feel God leading you elsewhere...go... but don't continue to try and bring division here. It is as simple as that. God did not call us to be divisive. There are plenty of other resources on this internet.

If you desire to be in a place that is for "Christians Only".. there are plenty out there. Go with the blessing of the Lord!!! That is as sincere as I can put it and is meant with more love than you can ever imagine!!!

Otherwise, let's stop all this ridiculous fighting, set our hands to the plow and get to prayer and find out what each of our jobs are in this body. Remember, some of us are fingers and toes and arms and legs. Find what God wants you to be in this forum and be it!!!!

But they were useful and were important.

Moderators should not be chosen by the community.

I like the way it is now.

I don't want to win a popularity contest to become a moderator.

Everything you said was correct. None of it will be compromised.

If you don't believe the Creeds reflect God's Word as our Christian confession of faith, you've more than implied it.

Yet you stated you don't require voters (members maybe?) beliefs in their hearts to be examined. Sounds like a contradiction to me.

They are the confession of Christian faith, put forth in Scripture as necessary for Salvation, which is no longer required here to be known to other posters as Christian. That is nothing short of dishonest and misleading to those seeking Scriptural truth and guidance in the Word.

Jehovah's Witnesses come to my door and try to get in with lies about Jesus. What makes you think it's not going to happen here?

Only if they are the same core beliefs. And they actually have to be able to be defined as what they are. Only certain things are iron...only certain things are Christian.

Yes - those Christians whose faith is strong might have to come to the aid of some weaker Christians at times, but that is what we are called to do anyway in real life, too.

The one core Christian belief is following the teachings of Christ, not following some list of doctrines.

Define "strong in faith" according to the new CF guidelines. There is no longer any definition to what that faith is, so "strong in faith" is now completely up in the air. Get my drift?
