I really feel that this is a revelation from God and not myself. Of course, Im the one writing so Im not sure if it will make much sense or be 100% correct, but I do feel pretty positive what Im about to write is truth.
The world we live in is troubled. It had been feeding off generations by plugging them into fame, self, money, greed, hate, and sexual perversions. The world has idolized these things and made them things to strive for. My generation, though, I feel is beginning to see the error in this thinking. I believe they are finally seeing the emptiness in it all, and they are turning from it in hopes of finding something different, something real.
Many have turned to the Church in this pursuit but have been let down. The rest, see the problems and the hypocrisy in the Church and have searched for something different. Dont get me wrong, I believe the Church is what God is building and it is part of Gods plan, but I will not be blind to our many, many problems.
The world is looking for something real and the Church has the answer, but they dropped the baton. The Church turned from its original purpose and sought after something else. Instead of love, they choose judgment. Instead of viewing everyone equal they viewed sinners (people who do not believe and serve the God of Abraham) as outcasts, creating an us vs. them viewpoint. Instead of reaching out to others, the Church reached in to themselves. (myself included). The Church went from serving others to serving themselves. Of course, the Church is made up of people, and everyone is sinful and no one is perfect; so its not like this wasnt predictable. But this still creates a serious problem.
The problems of the present Church are fogging the true message of Jesus Christ and his plan to save ALL creation. BUT I truly feel there is change brewing among the Church. I can feel it and I am beginning to see its results. As the world is opening their eyes to the huge hole they are sitting in, so is the Church.
A change is on the horizon. For example, in Northwest Missouri, my Showalter family is part of an attempt to change the landscape of Christianity. My uncle, David Showalter, is feeling led to start a new church, a interdenominational church- that will break down the walls of denominations and unite them as one body. If this were to happen, people living in the Northwest Missouri would finally be able to be apart of something that is making a difference. By uniting the churches, they would be able to reach more people, do more things in the community, and be able to exhibit the love of Jesus Christ on a scale they were never able to reach before now.
That is just one example of many. I really feel a new church is arising. THE Real Church. One that is not based on rules and self-glorification, but one that is based on the foundations of Jesus Christ and the Bible. I believe Christians are finally seeing the problems and wanting to change. Change, into what Christ has called them to do.
I am seeing, my generation especially, young people getting together and seeking after God. Young people rising up out of lukewarm Christianity, and Church activities, and honestly seeking God. People who want to do more than just lip service. I am seeing young people who really want to change; who really want to make a difference in this world for Christ, not so they can say look what I did, but rather look what Christ is doing through us.
I don't think this change will happen all at once; or even all at the same place. I think that this has been coming for a long time and is just now showing it's work. I believe that a new awakening is upon us, in America and the world. I think it will happen in little groups; not one big group, but little groups. I think they will slowly arise and eventually form a new church; a real church that is honest about who they are, and what God is doing in them.
Alright, I realize that was just a bunch of mumbo-jumbo but Im serious. I believe we are on the dawn of new revolution. True Christianity. Real Christianity. No more us vs. them. No more hate. No more judgment. NO more self-prophecies. No more fakeness. It has come time for us to get real. Its time for us to open our eyes and join the new awakening.
Are you ready? Will you join?
