I recommend this book. It's called A More Excellent Way by Henry Wright. It talks about how many of today's diseases are caused by spiritual roots. Like anger, bitterness, resentment, jealousy, etc. I feel it is well written and very informative. With doctors having trouble treating many diseases and illnesses today, I believe the answer lies within our spiritual lives with the Lord.

So you've read the book? I really, really enjoy his book. I found out about his book while reading books about my back pain. I was reading John E Sarno's books about the mindbody connection and knew that was the cause of my symptoms. I actually found out about Wright's book while reading a testimonials of Sarno's books on amazon.com. I see you are from Ireland and think that that is amazing that you were able to find out about Wright who is in Georgia. I am thinking of going to Wright's Be In Health conference here in Ohio in a couple of months. I agree 100% that these diseases, illnesses, and pain syndrome are caused by fear, worry, low-self-esteem, anxiety, guilt, unforgiveness, etc. America, is really pill and surgery crazy and doctors re doing a poor job of treating their patients. Not that they do not mean well, but they just do not have the knowledge to treat patients.

Just curious to why you bought the book. I bought it for chronic back pain, burning in low back, legs and feet, acid reflux, eczema. All which are mindbody symptoms.

The book covers, the spritual, emotional, and physical. He believes that most of the time that there is a spiritual and emotional aspect that causes the changes physically. I personally used it for my back pain. I had very bad back pain for 2 years, including neurological symptoms. I first started reading Healing Back Pain and The Mindbody Prescription by John E Sarno and got the first relief in the 2 year time period. After seeing a neurologist, orthopedic surgeon, p.t, chiropractor, pain management, supplements, bracing, etc. So I knew I was on to something. But the way Wright put it in his book, helped me make the connection very real. The Mind(Fear, worry, anxiety) directly affects changes in our bodies. Like the muscles, tendon, ligaments, nerves, immune system, etc. The cure, is knowledge. Not some pill, not surgery, but knowledge. Two years ago if you would have said that to me, I would have thought you were crazy. But it's very real. Some of the diagnosis mention in the book are chronic pain, back pain, heart diseases, cancer, skin diseases, fibromyalgia, carpal tunnel, strokes, M.S, auto immune diseases, etc. Too many too list. What I like about Wright is that when conventional doctrs have problems treating the diseases, pains, illnesses, he has helped many people. He uses scripture to back everything up, he uses nothing but the King James Version.

Thanks for the post Anna. The reason I bought the book was because I had been studying and reading the impact of repressed emotions on our health. I was reading Sarno's books for my chronic back pain of 2 years, which had me almost debilitated. Sarno is not a christian and I had read some where where a guy mentioned a book called A more Excellent Way. So I picked it up because he used scripture to back up some of Sarno's theories. I do not know Wright's heart, but I do know there are some things in that book that have helped me. Not to say that I agree with everything, because he is a man, and is not perfect. I do believe he has a heart to help people, but once again I can's see his heart. I believe he has valid points with the way the medical community is today. The do not look at the whole human. We are more than this body. We have a mind, spirit and soul. He believes that some diseases and pains are the result from something spiritual.

Today, what I see are doctors giving quick diagnosis and prescribing way to much medication. For example, my doctor when I told him I had heartburn frequently, he prescribed Nexium. I go back weeks later, tell him I had been fatigued, and a little depressed, so he prescribed Lexapro or something. A pill is not the answer for every disease or pain. Sometimes we gotta get to the cause. I know Wright's book had 33 blocks to healing. Maybe those blocks might not be a block towards healing, but they are blocks for us to be better Christians. The book gave me more to think about, like fear is an actual sin. I have lived in fear, anxiety, and worry. A pill is not the answer, but Jesus is. The cure for depression is not a pill, a pill only treats symptoms. I think getting to he root of the cause is necessary. Wright cannot heal me, Jesus can. But I believe there is some knowledge in Wright, just like Sarno that recognizes us as more than a physical body. Anyway, I am now almost 100% pain free from burning in my low back, legs and feet, that had destroyed my life. The knowedge God gave these men has helped me so much, when doctor after doctor did nothing. I just want people other people out there to get the relief I had.

More and more research has been done, it's just hard to find because it's really not advertised. Where as prescriptions, surgeries, alternative therapies are mainstream and more people know about it. God showed me some wonderful stuff, and I cannot thank Him enough because he saved me from unnecessary back surgery. Some other good reads are The Mindbody Prescription by John E Sarno and Deadly Emotions by Don Colbert. Both of these titles should be available at your local library if you ever want to pick them up.

Hi all...

I live about 45 min from the church and sometimes go down to the friday evening praise and worship services....they are some of the most anointed times of worship I've ever been a part of. The testimonies of folks who have completed the week's class are amazing.

I went through the class, as did countless others I know. Wow, talk about feeling cleansed of some garbage! I was able to finally release some bitterness, racism, unforgiveness, and other things I had allowed to gain a foothold.

It would take an hour to tell of all the miraculous I have seen....I wish there were more churches teaching what the Word says about all that Jesus purchased for us and how to truly appropriate it...If you have any questions, let me know. I'll do my best to answer.

As for the article posted earlier, the pastor gave a very biased and slanted view, I felt. My Dad went through the class and he had about twenty pastors just in his class. They all felt the whole teaching was very Biblically based.

Each has to make that decision for themselves...but I found it to be scripturally sound. And I can't deny the fruit.....freedom from captivity for thousands. Praise be to God!

When you had to release things such as racism, etc., how did they tell you to do it? From reading Wright's book I know he is big on fear, anxiety and worry, and their effects on the body, and I agree. I would personally like to attend, because I feel with all of the counselors they have their they would be able to help us see exactly the things we are holding on to, like fear, lusts, anger, gossip, etc. I have been working on emotions for a little over a year. I would like to attend but it hard for me to get to Georgia.

Most folks eventually find a way to come...it's amazing how many states are represented....

The week is broken down like this...Sunday night introduction and small overview of what the week will entail.

Monday...a long tedious day. They lay a foundation down about what Jesus bought at the cross...and what the Word says about how strongholds aren't to God's glory....a long day, but tons of testimonies to rise up your faith..

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are broken up into classes...about three a day. The first day may be about jealousy, envy and bitterness. A teacher will share testimony and walk you through the Word on the opposite of these things.....When you have your clear understanding that it's a good thing to lay these things at the cross...they will have prayer.

Much freedom comes from these classes. A water baptism is offered, they teach on ministering gifts of the Holy spirit, and prayers are offered concerning every single illness represented in the room....

Saturday you are put in a small group of about 4 and individual knee to knee prayer and guidance is offered... Healings and freedom come all during the week....you will see things you've never seen before if you normally attend a denominational church....(deliverances)

But it is completely in order as Paul layed out in the Bible. It is set up as a Biblical New Testament church. Quite an amazing experience ....:)

So does pastor Wright feel that we need to identify all jealousies, fears, worries to bring about healing? I am curious to find out how they teach the different classes and how they say to get rid of the fears, worries, and any other spiritual block.

Hold on a minute!

I just checked out a website that wasn't that crazy about the book. Maybe some of you that already have read this book could go and have a look and see if it is telling the truth. It sounds to me that this man is not really backing his views correctly.
I also think that we all should be sensitive before we 'judge' others and why they are in pain. There a re plenty of wonderful Christians out there that have been waiting for their healing for a long time and I know many of them have been dealing with their own unforgiveness, bitterness etc. and they are STILL not healed.
I am suffering from Fibromyaliga myself and I know I have been going through a 'cleansing period' in my own life, but the symptoms have not left me yet.
To go up to somebody and tell them that they are sick because of this and that can be VERY OFFENSIVE and even Jesus never condemned anybody for being sick as this man seems to do. Just thread carefully....ask the Lord for yourself what is true and what isn't! PLEASE!

Well, what I have learned is hat we need to look at our whole being for healing. we all are made up of of a mind, a body and a spirit. I believe all three of these need to be looked at for healing. Can all people be healed, I personally do not know that. Some things that I have found for myself, is that some people's books that I have read offer pieces to the whole puzzle. Wright's book, helped me to do so. I read a book by John E Sarno, The Mindbody Prescription and a book called Deadly Emotions by Don Colbert, which they helped also. I am currently reading a book called Christ The Healer by Bosworth. I guess I am trying to put the pieces of the puzzle together, but only through the knowledge of Christ. But we cannot deny that our disobedience to God, does not affect our physical health. Adam's initial sin brought death and disease into this world. Also Duet. 28 tells us that disobedience will cause sickness. And if my God is the same as He was yesterday, and the same as He will always be, then this holds true today.

I know Wright does not say that emotions and our spiritual life do not cause all sickness, disease, pain, etc. But it is something we should examine oursleves. The bible tells us to examine ourselves, and it also tells us to judge ourselves that we may not be judged. We must look at the whole bible and what it says regarding our health, not just this verse or that verse. The more I read the more I am like wow. I read before where in the bible it said exercise profiteth little. It does help, but not like some think. It's just part of the puzzle. That's where I am trying to put all these pieces together.

If you read exapmples of healing in the bible, you see that Jesus did not heal the same way, evey time. Read the story of the ten lepers, one was healed because he looked back and praised God, while the other nine wanted it for their own selfish desire. The man who was born, it was not because of sin or because of his parents, but that God's glory could be manifested through him. Look at the woman who had the issue of blood for years, she spent all of her money on physician's, but when she touched the hem of Jesus's garment, she was made whole. The stroy of the disciples when they tried to heal the blind man, they were unable after they had been able to heal before, they asked Jesus why, He said because of their unbelief, then He told them if they have had the faith of a mustard seed.

I have a friend who also believes that mercury poisioning can cause many health problems. Many people when they have had an immunization shot or fillings put into their teeth have had mercury put in their bodies. He believes this is what caused his son's autism, and he is working getting this stuff out of his son through chelation. He recommends this book http://www.noamalgam.com/. I know it does mention fibromyalgia. I will read this book when I get the chance. I pray that God shows you to the path of healing. But remember He is always there. God bless.
