As bookkeeper, I have been looking at the numbers and would like to make a proposal that should ease the burdens that a lot of the CFpetRESCUERs are feeling right now.
Currently, there are 450-460 living CF pets. I have counted, and there are 22 CFpetRESCUER accounts, with 10 that are active.
My proposal would be to let me assign each of the accounts a set number of pets (22 to start; more as the number of pets increases). The active accounts would handle their own pets, and those who would like to be more active can sign up to monitor the inactive accounts. Alternatively, the CFfosterANGELs could sign up to take care of the inactive accounts.
I can set up a post in my Living Pets thread for each of the accounts containing all of the links for each set. Then, when a CFpetRESCUER wanted to look after his/her pets, he/she could easily check on each in one location. I think it would greatly cut down on the time spent monitoring the accounts and maintaining lists.
I would take care of the newest pets until I have enough to disperse to the various accounts. Then, I would just add the links to the appropriate post, so each of the rescuers wouldn't have to try to keep up-to-date lists all the time.
I think this system could also be used to keep track of who's been taking care of which pets. That could happen as follows:
The CFpetRESCUER in charge of a given list would have and maintain a post directly under their list post (in thread-view). Each time they care for the pets on the list, they could update the date in the title of the post. That way, if one of the rescuers can't get to their computer, somebody else could step up and look after their pets. They would then post immediately under the CFpetRESCUER's post just to keep things organized.
Anyway, that's my modest (lol!) proposal. Let me know what you all think of it.
