I haven't written one of these in ages... But please tell me what you think.

Up toward the sky I look into the darkness
Speckles of light fill the pools of my eyes
I remember the times when we were together
Shy were the moments when our hearts sighed
A grin so timid slowly crept onto our lips
I remember when we were that young and naïve
Your hand lightly tightened coyly around mine
We were both wearing our hearts on our sleeve
The sun was nearing the top of the mountain
Stars were starting to show their bright smiles
But I kept looking into your lovely hazel eyes
Feeling your kiss made the lost worthwhile
The light calmly fades across the dry desert
Again I sigh from the distance between us
Memories slowly surge in my anxious mind
Much strength is given, in each other we trust
Tears have come and troubled, theyve gone
But pleasant dreams of you keep my love serene
You are my hero, my life, and my love
You are all I have dreamt, my perfect Marine
