One thing I forgot to mention in my recent post about the late Lemmy Kilmister was something I find a bit important, to me anyway.

We all know that God uses people for His own purposes no matter who they are, correct? Here's a take; I believe that God put Lemmy here on this world and into the position he was in as a rock n' roll icon to speak out against and warn us about false prophets and abuse of power.

As I mentioned before, Lemmy had Issues with organized religion, as do I (and I had those long before I discovered Motorhead), and had no problem airing those Issues as only a pickled Englishman could. In fact, one of my absolute favorite 'Head songs is "God Was Never On Your Side", which he clearly stated was about religious figureheads and organizations abusing their power over their people for selfish ends, and how they use His name to justify doing some pretty shady things that only benefit them, ultimately. Of course, the song I referenced in my initial post, "Just 'Cos You Got The Power", even though it's directed at corporate business tycoon types, can also be interpreted as a jab against said religious figureheads and organizations as well. Because really, where does all the money that the likes of, say, Joel Osteen make go in the end? I think it's pretty clear most of the time. I never was into following the likes of him (or people like the Westboro Baptist "Church" *shudder*) because as the man said "(I) Like to get my sleep at night." I'll post a couple links for lyrics here so y'all can have context, and thank you for reading this far. (Yes, there's bad language in them, he was a Brit--you were expecting any less?)
