Hello folks. This devotional covers on how we must love God and love others, but at the same time, not love wrongdoings.

Date
August 11, 2024 | A Lesson on Love
Verse
Deuteronomy 6:4-5 (NIV): "Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength."

Leviticus 19:18 (NIV): "Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord."

Mark 12:31b-34a (NIV): "‘There is no commandment greater than these.’ ‘Well said, teacher,’ the man replied. ‘You are right in saying that God is one and there is no other but him. To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.’ When Jesus saw that he had answered wisely, he said to him, ‘You are not far from the kingdom of God.’"

1 John 4:18 (NIV): "There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love."

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 (NIV): "Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away."
Explanation
These five passages from the Bible emphasize the importance of love in a Christian's life. The passages provide guidance on loving God and loving one's neighbor while avoiding sinfulness.
  1. Deuteronomy 6:4-5 highlights that monotheism is central to Judaism and Christianity, with an emphasis on loving God with all our heart, soul, and strength. This passage sets the foundation for understanding love as a total commitment to God.
  2. Leviticus 19:18 commands us not to bear grudges against anyone within our community (Israel), but instead to love our neighbor as ourselves. This passage shows that love extends beyond personal feelings and includes treating others with kindness, compassion, and forgiveness.
  3. Mark 12:31b-34a reinforces the importance of loving God above all else and loving our neighbors as we love ourselves. Jesus praises a scribe for his wisdom in understanding these two commandments and states that he is not far from entering the Kingdom of God. This passage highlights the interconnectedness between love of God and love of others, emphasizing that both are essential components of Christian living.
  4. 1 John 4:18 explains that perfect love drives out fear because fear has to do with punishment. Fear often arises when we harbor resentment or unforgiveness towards others, but true love overcomes these feelings and replaces them with forgiveness and compassion. This passage reminds us that our relationship with God should be characterized by love rather than fear.
  5. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 describes the characteristics of love in a list often referred to as "the greatest of all is love." The passage highlights that love is patient, kind, not envious or arrogant, does not insist on its own way, and is forgiving. This passage provides guidance for Christians on how to show love and kindness to others while reducing resentment and unforgiveness in our relationships.
Societal Relevance
Some strategies that Christians can do to show love and kindness to others include:

1. Practicing empathy by trying to understand the perspectives of those we encounter.
2. Offering help, encouragement, or support when needed.
3. Being patient and kind even in difficult situations.
4. Forgiving offenses, letting go of grudges, and showing compassion towards those who have wronged us.
5. Praying for others regularly.
6. Showing gratitude and appreciation to those around us.
7. Seeking opportunities to serve others selflessly.
8. Actively listening to the needs and feelings of others.
By following these strategies and striving to embody love in our daily lives, we can grow closer to God while also demonstrating His love to others.

For myself, I show kindness to others, but can still be quick to judge, though I ask God for forgiveness and pray everyday to become more loving. Patience is one of the fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23), so this is something that I will be working on this year. In this dark world, it seems that love has become less popular, as a lot of hatred is spread on the internet and in real life. Showing love to others in a divisive and impolite society can make a huge difference in people's lives. One random act of kindness can make someone’s day. More importantly, we must love the Lord. In order to love God, we must put aside our addictions and even entertainment to some extent and take some time each day to focus on His words in the Bible, pray, or listen to Christian music. Taking time to honor the Lord will prove our love for God, His Son, allow the Holy Spirit to transform us, and become sanctified.

here is another reminder about love and etc .
YE shall not hate . take heed that begins with you shall not hate .
But what does it say in total .
watch this alex .
YE shall not hate your neighbor in your heart , you shall in any way correct , rebuke them and not allow SIN upon them .
SO guess what it means if we do allow them to remain in sin , WE HATE and do not LOVE THEM .
GOD corrects all HE LOVES . we should too . many forget that part about LOVE .

if your brother sins against you AND REPENTS
you shall forgive him .
IF he dont repent , well its time to then take two or three witnesses so as every word can be established .
IF STILL he repents not , take it to the church . AND IF STILL he repents not , let him be as a pagan unto you .
AKA biblical correction DOES WORK .
Any who sins or does wrong to one must be corrected and should repent of said error
BEFORE fellowship is restored .
NOW its true we dont hold ill will , BUT WE BETTER follow the biblical pattern for CORRECTION
or else leaven gonna leaven up the place and that brother or sister in error is also in danger while he or she reamins in said error .
NOW THIS IS BIBLICAL alex .
CONFESS your faults one to another , pray that ye may be healed . ITS all biblical alex and it do work too .
but if we take from and omit parts , LOOOK OUT is all i can say , cause its not gonna work to the good of ANYONE .

Its all out war for the souls of men in these last hours upon earth . To the trenches .
Yep, it is. In a few weeks, or maybe a month or so, I will be releasing a new devotional titled Battle Stations: Spiritual Warfare. It will discuss how the churches and society are getting infiltrated with demonic practices.

All hands, battle stations (Star Trek: The Next Generation reference)
