A Last Word...

If you could only share one last message before you pass away, what would you want to theologically share with the people you care most about?

Christ my brother! In a real way (for them)

I would desire that those I love (and here I speak of my family) to know is that there is a very present God, One Who is not far off (as they believe Him to be) but One who draws near. One they can feel after and find, One they can taste and see, know in their spirit by His Spirit. To also crack the outershell of their religious speak in their saying, "yeah I know He is God (in more of a Martha type way) if your getting me, but be able to impart (somehow, in or in someway) a desire in them Him-ward in the hearing of His word (in more of a Mary type way).

Its hard to articulate things (to others) when speaking of those you are familiar with (and what you desire for them) especially theologically when they have somewhat of a theology even as both Martha and Mary had one. However I believe Mary touched Him (and more then just after the flesh) she heard Him and she knew it (in herself). Its the best way I'd attempt to descibe it I guess. And I would desire the blessing of them knowing that very thing (for themselves). Nothing could be greater (for them) because I know once that happens (in them) theres no turning back from there. Just a taste of Him (even the power of Him) which would act as gas to the engine (in the seeking of Him). And that they would know the great rewards that follow in the seeking of Him (which is more of Him). And likewise the awe He imparts likewise earns the respect (in them) unto the reccompence of the very same. You know, Im not sure how I to express what I desire for them in the right words, Im not so good at this but I really God in His greatness ( in His everpresentness) and by His power to unhold their eyes and be made known to them in a very real way. Them to know Him (that way) or know He can be known that way.

Just the very real blessing of seeking Him (feeling after) touching (and knowing) for themselves. That this can be so (for them) and that they could believe for it.

I think most people do until they 'get it'. Then they mellow out, as old pastors seem to.

I would love to say Remember that God loves you so much that He sent His only begotten Son Jesus to grant you rest and sweet peace. It isn't a relationship with or about church (religion) but one with God. It is you and God and no one else.

I would wish to think that I would say something profound that for those who aren't seeking God would seek Him...but I know me and I know that I would probably say something along the lines of "I'm going home, don't you dare cry for me at my funeral...I'll see you all soon."
