the bible says in ephesians 6.15
"and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace"

the bible says to put on the WHOLE armour of God.
that means all of it.
and the bible says one of the peices of armour is YOU PREPARING YOURSELF to do what you are called to do.
do you realise you can fail, simply becuase you did not completely prepare yourself.
we all have callings on our lives, but unless we are prepared we will never complete them.
like a man running a race, and near the end of the race, he is running well.
but all of sudden, his shoe falls off! and he hurts his foot, and he loses!
not becuase he wasnt called, not becuase he wasnt blessed, not becuase he didnt have the passion, but becuase he did not accurately prepare himself!
people seem to think that God is going to make everything they put their hands to, come to pass.but that is not true.
if you are not fully prepared, you will fail.

the bible calls this preparation SHODDING yourself.
or it literally means binding something to yourself, so that no matter what, it will not fall off!
and thats how we have to see our purposes, we have to literally bind things to our lives, so that in the midst of the race and the fury, they dont fall off.
do you realise that you have to bind yourself to prayer?
like a man, who is putting on his boots for the battle, he doesnt leave them untied, he doesnt leave the knot loose, he takes very specail care so when the fury of the battle comes, his boots dont fall off.

you have to bind prayer to yourself, like a runner would bind his shoe to his foot!
pulling on those strings extra hard, and making sure, no matter what, this prayer is not going to fall off, this shoe wont fall off.
it is of absolute importance, that you pray and spend enough time alone with God in prayer, worship and meditation alone with God, so that when the day of adversity comes, we do not fail, from lack of preparation in prayer.

it is very possible, that when the day comes, the day for you to fullfill the very reason you were left here on the earth after you got saved, that you fail and blow it all....not becuase you dont love God, not becuase you arent a good person, not because you dont care, but becuase you did not spend the hours in prayer that you needed to, in order to prepare yourself!
you have to be prepared!
you have to bind yourself in prayer, you have to strap that thing on good.
the point im trying to make is that many people, see prayer as a nice thing, a blessed thing.
but they dont see prayer as a matter of life or death.

they say "i may pray today, i will try, but i might i might not"
"i may spend an hour in prayer today so i can hear from God...but if i dont end up doing it, its ok"
no, you will walk onto the battlefield of life, and you will be cut down and defeated, becuase you were not prepared! you did not see prayer, as something you have to take special care to bind to your life, becuase that is the only way to be prepared for the battle that is coming for you.

you have to bind yourself to prayer, you have to bind prayer to yourself. so that no matter what, come hell or high water, i am going to pray today.
i am going to create an altar unto the Lord and hear from him, so that when the day of the enemy comes, i will be prepared.

your own the battle field of life, and you are laying wounded and hurt, becuase you dont have spiritual power, annointing, dont know how to use your sword the word, because you walked into a battle unprepared!
and the lost all around you are dieing too, becuase you cant help them, because your laying wounded, becuase you did not prepare yourself.

well will never make it through the valleys of life, there is a valley of the shadow of death for us all, and our purpose is on the other side. but if you cant make it through this valley, we will never reach our fullfill our destiny.
but this is a fight he has called us to win ourselves, with the power he gave us.
and you must pray, you must pray.
you must devote hours and hours to prayer. so you you know God, and you know the truth, and you know how to fight!
we receive nothing from God without prayer.
that is why we have to bind ourselves to prayer.
we have to strap prayer to ourselves up to the knees!
we must make sure, come hell or high water, come fire or a flood, if dont dont do anything else, i will give the Lord and offering and a sacrifice today, i will pray for atleast 30 mins to an hour today!
a remember a man of God who said he did not beleive that any preacher could be who he needed to be without atleast 2 hours of prayer everyday.

it doesnt matter what the Lord has offered us and given us, without prayer, it will never come to pass.
james said "you have not, because you ask not" or "YOU HAVE NOT, BECUASE YOU DONT PRAY!"

stop everything youve been doing, and prepare yourself in prayer.
that is literally binding yourself up in the spirit, so that when you are in the midst of the battle, a weakness isnt exposed and exploited and you are defeated.
you have to prepare yourself, in prayer.
take great heed, this is coming to and end, this age is nearly over, and the battle is about to heat up becuase the devil wants you all dead.
and you have to be prepared.
you cannot hide in your fox whole any longer, the battle will soon come to your very doorstep, the doorstep of every home in america, and those who are not prepared, will be defeated by an enemy who has taken literally thousands and thousands of year to utterly master is warfar.
dont kid yourself, the devil knows exactly what hes doing, you are the one whos been sleeping on the job, and when the battle comes, you will not win.
you may make it in to heavon, but your children, your family, your friends, your neighbors, yours home, your property, your ministry, will be cut down to the ground, and die, becuase you the did not prepare yourself, by spending enough time alone with God, to learn and be perfected and completed, so that when the evil day came, you were ready to stand and when the dust cleared, your still standing.
and know this, that paul said PREPARATION was a peice of your armour, and he said that for a reason.

we have to bind "daily prayer" to our lives. that is something that isnt nice, its not a blessing, its not a hope, its not a reward or something pretty, but it is the only way you will survive, in the dark times.
if you go days or weeks without prayer, dont fool yourself, you are not ready for what is coming.
peter said to pray in the spirit, building yourself up in the most holy faith.
prayer builds you, and without much prayer, you are not ready.

yes he did, and that is the thing too, not only are to we to set times of prayer, but we are called to keep that spirit of prayer all day long.
you are so right...
well praise God. im glad you were blessed.

eunice
well thankyou, i give God all the glory.
well, just dont think you need to forget everything youve learned up untill this point about prayer just becuase you learned something brand new about it.
just take what you already know and build upon it, go higher.

how do you pray?
well, thats not an easy question to answer.
becuase prayer is something that is simple, yet it can be far from simple.
talking to the Lord and asking him for all that you need, that is prayer.
so it is simple.
but that is not all there is to prayer, so prayer is not always simple.

i beleive these may be some of the greatest keys to understanding prayer, i dont have time to tell you everything i know about prayer, and by no means do i know it all anyway.

1. prayer works best when you have already entered the presence of the Lord.
i think taking a time to worship and praise God so that you can create an atmosphere for God to come into, and so that you can get yourself into a God mindset, can do wonders for a persons prayer life.
dont just come to prayer like your going to a grocery store with a list, first ask him to just come and spend time with you, and move on to your list of needs later in the prayer time, but first, just ask him to come and talk with you and be with you. time in his presence will change you.

2. prayer is something you have to learn and practice.
i dont beleive anyone starts out praying greatly, i think we all start out praying poorly, and we learn how to pray and through experience we get better and better, becuase we learn how it works. but understand that today, you cannot pray as well as you will be able to pray a year from now, and thats ok, just stay commited to praying and doing what you can now, and watch it grow as you experience it and learn how it works.
the disciples said "lord, teach us to pray"
we have to learn how to pray. ask the Lord to teach you how to pray.
say "Holyspirit, teach me to pray" and hell come. and when your praying, youll get ideas about what to say, about what to do, when to be silent, when to speak. hell teach you.
youll be praying and then youll feel something saying "stop praying for this and pray for this" and thats God teaching you how to pray.
youll feel something say "pray with boldness" and thats God, teaching you how to pray.
ask him to come and teach you how to pray, and he will.
stay to commited to prayer, whether your the best at it or not.
whether your prayers change the world or not.
someone once said "anything thats worth doing is worth doing greatly"
and thats true, IF YOU KNOW HOW DOIT.
but i think
that if you do not know, then anything thats worth doing, is worth doing poorly untill you learn how to doit.
so stay commited to daily prayer, and be patient and be postitive about your prayers and youll watch yourself grow.
but ask the Lord to come to teach you how to pray, and you will begin to realise things about prayer. but be patient, that is the thing.

3. pray whats on your heart, not just your needs.
if you are having a terrible day, and you are so hurt because of something that happened to you, tell God all about that. the bible says a lady named hannah did this and it was called POURING YOUR SOUL OUT before the Lord.
there are times in prayer, that you dont need to be asking for all the normal things you ask for, even though you still need them.
but if there is a heavy burden on your heart, pour your heart out before God, express all that to him. and he will come and bring healing to you.
he wants to do a work in your life and change you in prayer, not just fill your grocery list.

4. ask the Lord to show you what to pray for.
hell give you ideas and youll begin to realise the things you need to be asking for and doing in prayer.

5. when you ask something, dont feel bad about taking a few mins silent waiting for an asnwer.
there are times when i prayed for something, i asked God a question.
and i didnt quickly receive an answer. but i just silent, i didnt move on, but just sat silent waiting on the Lord to speak to me. and i gave my mind a rest, and listened to my heart instead, and sure enough a min or two later, he told what i needed to know.
but sometimes we do so much talking, he cant get a word in.
sometimes we need to be silent and know that he is God, and just wait on the Lord.

6. when God shows you that how youve been praying isnt so good, dont get depressed, but just change and be happy you can change.
the bible says never grow weary of his correction. her doesnt show you your faults to defeat your desire to do well, he shows you them so you can change and do better. hes trying to make you better, not crush your spirit.

7. learn to tarry in prayer.
this is one of the greatest things God has shown me about prayer.
in the garden Jesus asked his disciples "can you not tarry one hour?"
ya know, we pray and ask all the things we can think to pray for, and part of us feels like getting up because we are done.
but sometimes we need to just sit still and wait.... wait a little longer.
if you cant think of anything to ask for or dont feel lead to pray for any certain thing begin to say "Jesus i love you, i bless you, i love you Lord, there is none like you" and whether you are asking for things or not, God will move in a specail way and do a work in your life.
but go slow, dont try to speed things up, i think trying to speed up your prayer time can destroy it as fast as anything else.
but if you will learn to tarry in your prayer place, if you will learn to just wait and not get up yet, but learn to wait and lay there before the Lord a little longer, sometimes you will receive something from him that touches your life so deeply, becuase you were willing to wait on him.
but Gods not BAM, BAM, BAM, hes not on the ball, hes not get it done fast...
God cherishes time alone with you, not just providing for you.
and time in his presence as you wait for him, and get a glimps of his glory, is what changes you more into his image.
the bible says the holyspirit came and BROODED or hovered or MOVED on the face of the waters.
its like a mother chicken sitting down and ruffling its feathers.
it was like the holyspirit was making himself comfortable, and that took time.
you have to give him time and wait on him, untill he is willing to move.
but boy is it worth the wait!

8. be commited to daily prayer, no matter what.
its like driving a nail into something, finishing it, making sure that it wont move. commiting yourself to pray everyday of your life and spend time alone with him, is like putting the nail in it, and saying "i will not be moved"
and you will be amased just how much changes when youve bound yourself to daily prayer. a commited daily prayer place, is like a rock or a foundation that God can build upon and take you higher.
but when you have no set way or time of prayer, you may or may not pray...
your foundation is shaky, and God cant really do anything because there is no firm or strong place in your life for him to get a foothold or a foundation to build on.
your life with God isnt firm, untill your godly WAYS are firm.
you will never have a firm Godly life that cant be shaken, untill you have a firm daily prayer life that cant be shaken.
commitment to daily prayer, is driving in the nail.

sorry that was so long... i hope you can read it all in one sitting.
well praise God i am so excited!
be blessed.
Lee.

Very nice posts, Endure! I think daily prayer is essential to accomplishing God's plan for your life, but I also think that it's even more fundamental than that. Prayer is our way to show God that we love him, and to be open to his love. God wants to be the number one thing in our lives. He wants us to love everyone, but him above father, mother, wife, children, everyone and everything. He wants us to love our God with all our heart, all our mind, and all our soul. So how do we show God that he is our number one? It's a matter of priorities. Our priorities are reflected in how we spend our time and effort. It's always a good idea to imitate Christ, whose custom it was to rise up early and go to an isolated place to pray.
I liked what you said as well on how to pray, especially the parts about inviting the lord to be present with you, and about silence. I'd also like to emphasize that prayer isn't just asking for things. It's our time to listen to God as well as speak to Him. It's also our time to reflect on him and fall further in love with him. I like to do spiritual reading and meditate on it, and think about its deeper meaning and how to apply it to my life. I also like to try to pray with my heart, and simply concentrate on loving Him. There's an old saying that goes, "in order to pray all of the time, you must pray some of the time." Which means that once you set aside time for prayer, God will teach you how to focus on Him all the time and make your whole life prayer. I'm not there yet, but sign me up! Now I've gone on too long. Sorry!

PRAISE GOD! HALLELUYAH!
well i am so so very glad, that i was able to minister a word from the Lord.
it is my passion, to be a minister of the gospel and minister to peoples lives and be of some service.
i am so blessed and encouraged by all of your replies, thankyou, so very very much, thankyou. that is so encouraging, bless you, thankyou. i appreciate you all.
and i say again, i am just so glad that something i said ministered to your spirits and helped you, and i give God all the glory. i know how nothing i am in myself.

chilldogg77
thankyou so much, i needed your encouragment.
and yes, everything you said is so true and only better explained the things i was trying to say, thankyou.
i am glad, that you have caught what true prayer really is.
and that what you have said is so true, and doing those things is a pathway for anyone, into a deeper relationship with God and into a deeper and more powerful prayer life.

eunice
oh thankyou, the only reason i wrote all that for you was becuase i truely truely desired to help you and see you become the awesome blessed beautiful woman of God that you are called to be.
i am so glad i could be blessing to you.
i say this with sincerety, you saying what you just said to me makes it all worth it for me. thankyou so very much for you replying back to me.
and whether you know it or not, even though i ministered to you, what you said ministered to me also, becuase there are times when i am worried and begin to listen to the enemy and beleive that i can do no good, and my words wont help anyone, but thankyou for defeating that devil for me.
thankyou, you are a beautiful woman of God today, but you really really dont know or have any idea the greatness God has planned for you.
the woman of God he has planned for you to be, is something far greater than anything you have ever hoped to be. i promise you that.
please, dont settle for anything small, DREAM BIG DREAMS! the biggest things you can possibly imagine, and ask for them!
becuase the bible says ephesians 3.20
that God is able to to exceeding and abundantly above ALL we can ask or even think.
I DARE YOU, DREAM YOUR BIGGEST DREAM! becuase not even that can hold what God has planned for you! get an understanding, of the greatness he has for you...wow. you could lead millions of women to the Lord all over the world. and i know we have to be realistic, and i know you probly cant see yourself doing that, but i know God, and i know that is absolutely nothing for him to say he wants you to do that, and then doit for you! he can do that, dream big dreams.

i bless you, and thankyou.
and i beg you, if you ever feel you need anything, you want me to pray for you, ill pray for you. you want me to go on a fast for you, ill go on a fast for you, i will do anything in my power to be there for you, because i love you, and i desire to see the great woman that you have inside of you come out. please, dont think it to much, if you ever need help, call on me.
i will do all i can to be there.
i dont want your phone number or your address or anything like that, but just tell me pray, tell me to fast, and i will.
well Godbless you.

andyM
well praise God, i am so glad that something i said was of some help to you and minister to you.
praise God. if there is anything else youd like to ask or anything at all that i have the ability to give, please dont feel like your being a burden, ask me, if you dont mind me being the one you ask.

i just desire to be a minister of the Lord and it touches my life and fills me with JOY to see people ministered to and set free and built up in the Lord.
thats my desire.
i want to do all i can for you and anyone else, please dont feel like you shouldnt ask, it is my desire to know i can help anyway i can, by the grace of God.

well praise God, this has blessed me to know God made me to be a blessing to you all. and i do, give all glory unto the Lord.

Lee.
