  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi Y'all, as a retired airline captain and now a pilot for the rich and famous, I get close to our Maker on a regular basis. He's saved my bacon on 2 or 3 different occasions. Guess He's still got something for me to do in this life.

I've actually been registered on this board for over a year, but only posting now for the first time. Been a Christian all my life but have been away from the Church for about 35 years. Faith and spirituality is strong, finding committment to my previous church is still a little fragile. It's the one in the current scandal regarding the ordaining of a homosexual bishop.

My new found parish has a great rector and the congregation seems very nice and mostly very committed to parish activities. Still kind of observing and evaluating.

Will check back here from time to time. The Lord's Peace on Y'all.
