  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi everyone, I am looking for a good OT Catholic Commentary. I already have the New Jerome Bible Commentary and I like it, but its too academic, I want something more doctrinal, for example, I own Lapide's Commentary but thats only on the Gospels, I also own the Catena Aurea and Paul's epistles commentary by Aquinas but I can't find anything like that on the OT, except for Aquina's commentary on the book of Job.

I have many good NT commentaries, but not OT. I also don't want to spend $100 on a single 800 page commentary on only 9 chapters of a single book of the OT.

I would like a compilation, one to five books max, I prefer an abridged commentary rather than those which cover everything including the type of grass that grew back in 1500 BC Palestine.

Also prefer something more traditional and in full agreement with Catholic doctrine, rather than the more modern "neutral" commentaries.

Both English and Spanish options are welcome!
